From what I've read I believe he does. Not sure who said he didn't do his own work but I do know he has a rear bumper and rear tire carrier that he sells or used to sell. People who get all their work done in shops (that arent their own) usually don't also sell
that kinda stuff

This thread is sooooooooo entertaining, thank you everyone for the hilarious comments, I mean you guys are making it out to be such a huge deal when it's not at all, no reason to get all butt hurt about it, it'll just ruin the future polls. Back when it was pick by gatorgreg it was fun and lighthearted. I think the main purpose of it was to highlight a particular build each month, I enjoyed it. I got to read about trucks I didn't know about prior.

Who cares if crozhawk won 5 years ago? His truck is hardly the same now then it was now. Same with mine when I won 7 years ago and it was completely stock I just had fun photos from a trip which is what was highlighted then.

If this poll is going to continue I think you should follow basic guidelines of maybe who has done interesting stuff to their truck in recent history and or who would have a interesting build to highlight this month. This should be encouraging comradely not start a pissing match between members. Can't all 4runner owners just get along? Everyone here has beautiful trucks in different way, this poll doesn't need to be The only validation for that, but that's what it seems like it is...

What if it was more of a Toyota 4Runner member of the month? I mean, my rig is far from stock, but at the same time it's far from being ultra built. As it stands, it would stick out quite a bit when compared to a stock rig, but I know there are more than a far share of members who have stock Runners and wheel them a ton more than I do. Maybe give props to those who got out and had the most fun that particular month? Or at least make them part of the nomination process.

Despite having an awesome 4runner, Crozhawk should be disqualified for a few reasons..

He's already won being the main one.

Also hes not active anymore. How does the forum gain from him winning?

Also he just paid a shop to do all the work.. Thats like when a lambo wins a car show against a few owner restored classics. Money wins, thats dumb.

Dave (Crozhawk) built his truck by himself, iin his garage, with his own welder, and other tools while at the same time serving our country abroad from time to time. NEVER!!! was his truck in a shop to have ANY work done to it. He even designed and built his own bumpers front and rear for this rig after having others on there he did not like.

The only help he ever got for his rig were phone calls to me about what I thought about certain aspects of his build, and the vast knowledge he gained from pouring over tons of build threads from mine to those on Pirate.

If your going to make a statement about someones truck or build GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT FIRST"

I see where you are coming from, I have no problem with shops doing all the work. But as far as this type of contest goes, I think it matters who built it.. Because the prize goes to the owner. The contest is about who has the best build, who has put more work into the build, more thought, more effort, more blood sweat and tears, not just who put in more money..

There is a reason we have "build threads" and not "paid someone to build it for me threads".

Looking at his build now, its not the one I was thinking of! Mixed up two different trucks.

There was another white 4th gen I remember on this site a while back. Dude came and posted a thread like "So and So fab shop is amazing!" and had a bunch of pics of when he dropped off his rig and picked it back up all SAS'd and stuff. Help me out guys, what guy am I thinking of?
His truck looked just like Crozhawks..


Anywho, good catch. Definitely don't want to unintentionally slander such as awesome build. Guys got skills in the shop, makes me jelly.

For the record....

I have not been very active lately (on any boards for that matter) due to my job. I'm trying to wrap up a very challenging time in my career, which will continue for the next couple months. Then I can take a knee and the web-wheeling will be on lol!!

I didn't much appreciate folks saying I didn't build the truck, If you know what's involved in a SAS of that level, you basically strip the entire suspension off the frame rails and build it from scratch. There's a TON of measuring, cutting, welding, engineering and R&D to make sure everything works correctly, drives well and doesn't end up like a bag-o-smashed ass! lol!

"BUILDING" a truck like this is not just picking parts from different trim models and getting them to fit together ...it's a true transformation of what the vehicle is and can do. The other stuff like the roofrack, bumpers, etc. is not nearly as challenging but again, I made that stuff from scratch as well (minus the front bumper which I just modified).

There are only a few 4th Gen SAS's, 3 total to my knowlege. The other 2 are very sweet trucks but neither of them are white.

Wyatt ...you always have a way with words lol! Thanks for all yours and Roams' help in making the truck a reality.
