haha, nice, how you gonna afford ammo, i just noticed your in UT, the above pics were taken in St.gorge, i get down that way every so often to see the parents and hit up the parks, good state, though some of the people are kind of weird....

you're making me nervous... is ammo really that scarce right now? each of us pays a $40 fee for ammo. The instructor is UHP and its college class. Took it two years ago (handguns) as my first experience from the same guy.
He had the best ideas ever.... if you are ever going to do a drive-by, use a revolver. No casings to recover. haha.

I buy bulk , and its been scares and no good deals to be had , at least around here , I'm holding off on shooting a bit until prices come back down or I can find a good deal on bulk , they won't take our guns they will simply cease to make bullets, not that I think that's an issue , but do think that logic is driving ammo sales right now .
Good to know rest of ut isn't like that , wife hates the looks she gets for not having ten kids pulling on her leg at the ripe old age of 27. Haha

well my marksmanship class seems to be a disappointment for now. today he was on a call so no class. next time is safety... no class the next week and then marksmanship basics... then finally the range, with 22lr rifles. so that's in about four weeks.
what's a good distance for practicing with a 22? I've removed the scope. I'm gonna grab a bulk box of .22 and head to the range tomorrow.

Agreed, but the learning curve is very steep, almost cliff-like. If I could find someone in my area that would sit down with me for a few reloading sessions and make sure I am not going to blow my hand off, I would try it.
I found it to really not be bad for pistol cartridges. I bought the Lyman reloading book, read through it, bought a Dillon 550b and started reloading. I've loaded almost 200 batches of ammo on that machine, with each batch being around 100 to 400 rounds. I load .38 Spcl, 9mm, 10mm, and .45 ACP.
I had a few squibs when I wasn't paying attention, but I have never damaged a gun. I had some issues with .38 before I realized that my brass was worn out (loose primer pockets were causing the primer to back out on firing).
But all in all, it has been very worthwhile.

I actually reloaded quite a bit when I was 14/15 years old. My neighbor had a gun shop next to his house, and he taught me a lot about reloading. I'd say I reloaded 900-1000 bullets over a 2 year period. Unfortunately I was 14, and didn't pay enough attention to what I was doing at the time to retain enough to do it now.
