HAHA...well we do need more longer distance shooters.

where do you guys go shooting? i take my wife to the range at Ft. Lewis to shoot her handguns and sight in the long rifles before the hunting season. but we spend alot of time down at Capitol forest with the AR's (range control doesn't like it when we bumpfire our weapons!:dammit

We normally shoot in Duvall as we both live farther north. I have wanted to shoot down at Capitol Forest to see what kind of range we can find. theizzardking has been heading over the pass to get his longer range shooting in.

capitol is pretty good now since they've been logging more in there. alot of areas where you can easily stretch the legs of your long rifles. i made some armor plate targets and took my buddy out there who has a Barret 98bravo .338 lapua. we ranged our furthest target at 700+ yards from the landing we were shooting from, across the clearcut up to the hillside where the targets sat. we could have gone out further but i wasn't walking up the mountain carrying steel plates!!! it makes for a fun day of shooting but we haven't gone in a while since the prices of ammo have gone up and is more scarce. thankfully i stockpiled ammo as soon as all the gun control BS got crazy.

i think we need to set up a date beginning of next month, i'm looking at getting into a 6.5 , 7mm, or 300 win soon and am going to want to run it.... hehehe..
i'll have this awesome rifle and no idea how to use it properly....haveing someone who shoots long range with us could save me a ton on ammo!!!

We might be able to do that! I'll check what my schedule looks like. Actually my wife's schedule. She's a comm. officer for 911 so her work schedule changes every month. My other kids are 1, 6, and 9 years old so its sometimes hard to get out when the wife it working! I shoot 7mm, .300, and my AR is chambered in.308. My 14yo son shoots .270 and his AR is chambered in 6.8spc. It makes stocking up on ammo pretty expensive having so many different calibers!!! Not to mention the 9mm, .40cal, .45, .22 and 5.56 also in the arsenal.

For you guys that carry concealed, what holsters are you using? I've been using a desantis iwb tuckable in the 1:00 position but want to have a better option for iwb carry in the 4:00 position as well. I'm also looking at the desantis cargo holster for summer pocket carry.

Anyone particularly passionate one way or the other?

For you guys that carry concealed, what holsters are you using? I've been using a desantis iwb tuckable in the 1:00 position but want to have a better option for iwb carry in the 4:00 position as well. I'm also looking at the desantis cargo holster for summer pocket carry.

I'm not a fan of Galco or DeSantis or the like.

For IWB at 4:00, I use a Crossbreed Supertuck for my Glock 23. Awesome holster. I'm trying Appendix carry for the 23. I tried the Raven Concealment Appendix holster, but it just doesn't seem to work for me. Now I'm trying the Comp-tac 2 o'clock holster -- the jury is still out on this.

For a fullsize 1911, I use a Kramer #3. But given how much I like the Crossbreed for my 23, I might get one for my 1911 as well.

And, any of you guys have any AR pistols?

No, I don't see the point.

I'm kinda SOL when it comes to holsters cuz I'm left handed. No one ever has lefty holsters on the shelf around here!!! I was able to swap the right handed paddle holster that came with my XDM.40 for a lefty which isn't too bad. It's definately a lot tighter against my waist that the Blackhawk paddle holsters. I do like using the ITP holsters most of the time.

Don't buy holsters off the shelf. Most of the holsters that are stocked at gun stores are crap.

Just order directly from a good custom holster maker. They will gladly make a lefty holster for you.

yeah that's my plan. i learned that lesson when i bought my first XDM. nothing i was able to find fit/felt right. definately gonna order custom! i'm holding out for now cuz i'll be inhereting my brothers springfield EMP.40 AND HIS 1911-A1.45 when he moves back to guam. he's got about a dozen handguns but for some reason he doesn't care too much for the springfields. his nighthawks and wilson combat pistols are his babies! i'm praying he fall out of love with his LaRue 7.62OBR!!!:AK47:

I've been using Remora holsters for a few months now and they have been great. Basically slide it in whatever position you want, and it stays put. No clips to deal with, no movement, and they are pretty reasonable. They can also double as a pocket holster, though I've not tried it... none of my carry weapons are that small and I'm not on big cargo pockets.

I had a rather lucky shot the other day... was out shooting a glock 26 and some shotguns. I ended up hitting a clay pigeon in the air with it. that will never happen again.
