There's a lot of flak on the interwebs about the KSG being unreliable, breaking, jamming, poorly built, poorly designed...
That and it's hard to get and if you do find one, you're likely to pay a premium.
I've seen one fired at a range, it promptly jammed, but have never owned, handled, or had a desire to get one since the 870 is so cheap and reliable.

I travel to Scottsdale every year to sit in on their 3-day Dillon Aero training course, and we fly and shoot at their desert range - next time I hope to make strafing runs in the Little Bird with them... my wife came with me a few years ago and fired 5000 rounds from the UH-1 and had a blast!
I am soooo jealous.

Too bad. It's such a cool concept.
I have not yet gone back to Scottsdale this year because a local buddy has his own UH-1 here in north Texas, and so we take various 7.62x51mm belt-feds up in it (e.g. hog hunting), including an M134 minigun (but unfortunately it's not a Dillon Aero, so it just doesn't run as well, even with its slower ROF, as you can hear in this video)
We filmed all these scenes as part of the GammaLabs G-Fuel "Mission Gunship" sweepstakes last Summer... and then in November, the contest Winners came back to central Texas for this: G Fuel: Mission Gunship | The Movie

I know, I started to research one when they first came out. I don't live far from where they make them and they got a huge batch of first production runs in my local gun stores.
I researched it very thoroughly, and I really wanted one, just not 2 grand for a finicky, poorly built shotgun. Not sure where it goes wrong, but I'm guessing that the side-by-side design of the magazine tubes and how the spent shells are ejected straight down are its weaknesses.
Someone claimed that putting a vertical foregrip on whatever it has as a "foreend" puts unnecessary stress on the picatinny rail and causes it to break, but Kel-Tec did beef up the design.
I have a sub 2000 and think it's a great rifle. It's a bit fragile, but shoots great... on a good day I could probably live with the KSG, but a Remington police magnum lives under my bed.
Now that is some kind of awesome! :guitar3:

a buddy of mine was telling me about those but i have yet to wrap my hands around one. they look pretty nice though. i have a Hogue on my DPMS LR.308 and love it. my son also has a Hogue on his Rock River 6.8 but wants to change it up. maybe i'll look into getting him one to try out.
Almost forgot to share, this was My B-day present to Me!! Got it 2 days after My birthday (july 15th). Remington R-1 1911! It 's ridiculously smooth and very comfortable. Only thing I need is a holster. Working on that though, think I may have found one. =D
