I just bought a Geissele SSA-E Trigger and let me tell you, it is sweet! 2-stage with a total 3.5lb pull, my groups should get much better. The factory Mil-spec trigger is heavy and I can see the movement as I was pulling the trigger. I'll report back my results when I get back from the range next weekend.

Great choice!! You'll see your groups improve almost immediately if you're coming from a mil-spec trigger. Just be careful...once you start shooting with them, you'll want them in all your rifles. Ask me how I know. HA

Yep! The Geissele SSA-E is definitely sweet! Night and day in comparison to a mil spec trigger group. They're smooth as butter and I just love the crisp 1.2 lb second stage break. I like them so much I have the SSA-E on three of my rifles. :bigok:

I did however give My nephew his first 1911 yesterday for his B-day!
He got a very nice Springfield Armory Mil Spec 1911 in a satin stainless finish, with the fully loaded acc. box. Guess who is his favorite Aunt in the world? LOL

I picked up these two new additions to my collection. A Beretta M9 and and a vintage Browning model 1955. What can I say...I really like them a lot! The Browning is circa 1966 and fires like a dream for its size. Nice pocket pistol. The Beretta is very accurate and reliable.

Any reason you picked up the M9? I shot it allot in the Military and I finally came to the conclusion that I didn't suck and it was the pistol. I'm sure with work to them they would be fine but the Military ones were crap. I would get a KKM precision drop in for it. You will see and night and day difference. Good thing about them is they go bang most of the time.

The thing I like about the Beretta's (and their Taurus counterparts) is that they will eat any crap ammo you can throw at them, pretty much any loads/bullets too. Whenever my finicky 9mms choke, I pop the round out and set it aside for my PT-92. :hungry:

Well that is true. They will shoot about anything you push down the barrel. I just hated the trigger in them. It drove me nuts.

It was more or less an impulse purchase. It has performed well so far...shoots straight and feels right in my hand. It will primarily be used for home defense and the upcoming zombie apocalypse. :gun6:

The trigger can definitely stand for some improvement, but I think the same is true for almost all of my guns out of the box, except maybe the Kimber.

I think it makes a good home defense or truck gun (in non commie states/cities). It's accurate, has decent capacity, I've never had a misfire or jam with it, it eats garbage, and has some nice heft in case you need to use it as a brick. :rockthrow:

This reminds me... I need to do something about that M&P trigger.

It is not a bad gun. I just really do not like it. It is very old school to me. I know that is not a bad thing always but this gun just needs some love when it comes down to it. The triggers is garbage, the locking block on this one is weak one the little wings it has. Seen them break, not a good thing, and I do not like the slide because it is milled thin in parts.

For a gun that will chill in the house it is fine but, I know when I shoot I pretty much beat the piss out of my hand guns. Meaning I shoot the hell out of them. Not uncommon to have a 1k-1,500 round day when I really shoot. If it is just play that is another thing.

Enjoy it though.

I doubt you could go far wrong with FN......at one time or another preferred firearm of military in pretty much every westernised country in the world.

finally getting back to this...old post..

ive had it a while now. only shot it a few times, due to ammo being scarce. but, its badass. i love it.

i got it with the m4 adjustable stock. but, i think im going to order the para-stock(what its supposed to come with), since the 7.62 has a bit more recoil than the 5.56. the m4 stock is square, and flat, and is tearing up my shoulder. the para stock is nice and curved.

and still want to get the quad rail for it.



i did end up having to send it back, as they sent me the wrong receiver. they sent one without a handle.
when they sent back the correct rifle, they accidentally RE-filled my entire order. which included 2 or 20 mags...

when i called to ask what happened..they said "we sent them, they didnt charge you. keep them."

For those of you who carry while camping, do you make efforts to conceal your firearm or do you prefer to open carry on your hip? I assume that most will prefer larger calibers which are more difficult to conceal.

either or. depends on what im doing, and the weather. i use a shoulder holster. so if its cool, i wear a jacket, and its concealed.
warm...its open.

i would like for a 10mm to be my next pistol purchase.

They didn't seem to be over priced in my opinion. Saw an Ak-47 7.62 cal for 899, 250 rounds of s&w .40 cal 180 grain FMJ's for 109.00 and there basic model AR's were between 800 and 1100 pending brand. With that said though I've only been watching the firearms market in the past year, so I can imagine those prices are high compared to a few years ago.

at one of the local stores i go to, a 250 bulk box of .40 is $90.
in fact, i dont think they have really changed their prices at all.
they are finally starting to get some ammo in aswell.
i picked up a few bricks of .22lr the other day. aswell as a couple 650rd bulk boxes of .40 for $230:uzi:

That is nice. They just don't seem to have their sh-t together. The next PSA deal that catches my attention will likely get me to cancel what remains of my January order.
