Rem 700 243 in M40A1 return stock on top, Custom Rem 700 223AI in McM A5 bottom

did you get matching bottom metal with your smear pattern USMC return stock?

I ended up getting matching bottom metal with mine and had it all built up to a spec M40A1 with correct Rem700 short action within proper serial number range, Hart barrel, one-piece clip-slotted base, and topped with the USO MST-100

No joy on the bottom metal, I did however score some early Williams bottom metal and got that to fit. Truth be told the barreled action in that stock is a plain Jane Rem 700 SPS varmint in .243 and it is one of my most accurate rifles.......Blake

You guys are so fortunate to have the 2nd amendment, in the UK we have to make do with air rifles under 12 ft-lb muzzle velocity & to give you an idea of how ridiculous our laws are, any person caught carrying an air weapon on land other than their own or without the landowners written permission, is considered as carrying a firearm & prosecuted as such.

As an ex-serving regular member of special forces I find this insulting.

That is nice. They just don't seem to have their sh-t together. The next PSA deal that catches my attention will likely get me to cancel what remains of my January order.

i agree. but they were busy as shit when i ordered...and expect they have been, and will be for a long time.

but, im not complaining. i got my rifle about 8 months early...and $550 worth of free mags.:frog:

When I ordered they said it would be 4-5 months, so I was planning on May or June, hopefully before I moved. I call for periodic updates and each time it's pushed out again. Hell, AR prices have pretty much normalized again and supply is catching up. If I hadn't already received the lowers, I would have just ordered a couple of complete rifles in the past few months. :violin:

I may try to sell the lowers if I find the right deal on a couple of complete middys.

It looks like a fun range/pit blaster. Let us know how it functions once he puts some rounds through it. After seeing a few AA kits in action, reliability can be an issue.

I am curious as to why he chose 45 degree irons with what appears to be a 1x red dot.

I just don't see the point of an ar15 pistol.

Although I wouldn't build one myself, I see two reasons why someone would build one:

1. A way to function test SBR uppers prior to your tax stamp coming through
2. It's the closest thing to a SBR you can get in states that don't allow them such as WA

Forgot that part, I asked the same question. He said it was what was in the parts bin at the time and that he may or may not swap them out down the road.

There lies problems when one has multiple expensive hobbies. Toys come and go, sometimes that's the way it has to happen.

Now that makes a lot of sense.

I'm waiting impatiently on a 16.5" Tavor. It is shorter than many SBRs.

Very cool. You'll have to let us know how you like it. I usually shy away from bullpup designs as a lefty due to brass ejecting directly into my face. But it sounds like that's a non-issue with the Tavor (deflector design and the ability to switch ejection ports).
