I appreciate the feedback! Heading to the range tomorrow to shoot my dad's G23 again, and use the membership to try some free rentals. I have used the blue label program a few times on Glocks and it's just really hard to pass up the discount and extra magazine that come with it.

I haven't shot a 357SIG yet and I've always wanted to. I'll have to see if they have some at the range tomorrow.

I say the best bang for the buck is easily this,
TAC65 .22LR SUPPRESSOR Excellent Suppression, Easy To Clean by:

Given sound suppression, diameter, weight, disassembly and price.
I have ones that will work on my .17HMRs, but they are stainless, heavier and cost more. I have ones that are lighter and smaller but more $.
For a first can it is GREAT!!!!!!!! And reasonably priced.

You'll want to find a dealer who stocks them, that way they SHOULDN'T charge you a transfer fee as it is USUALLY included on in stock cans, AND it will save you a few months.

perfect! just what I was looking for. thank you! I appreciate the link, I will add it to my list of options. it is cheaper than the other one, and that's always good.

as far as dealers...there are only 2 class 3 dealers in town and one of them is a pawn shop. I really doubt either of them STOCK them.


for now, i'll just get one for the 22. but maybe in the future, it might be nice to have one on my FAL as well. I doubt i'll shoot any subsonic rounds through it, im not sure if they would even cycle the bolt. but just being able to cut the sound down some would be nice.

Sitting in my house right now I am looking at Vancouver WA, and can shoot at my house if you ever wanted to "Hear" some different ones.
I am an HK guy - kind of ridiculous, 1 sear and 42 guns I can use it in - and have several 308 cans, I do not suppress them, the added "Dwell" that it causes makes them hard on the weapon and you get a ton of debris in your face. Yes on an HK I could change the locking piece and make it better but it's not worth it to me. The only autoloading 308 I have a can on is my Larue OBR 7.62, it has an adjustable gas system to help that out.

not too often, mostly only in the summer when im on the bike. I appreciate the offer tho.

i'll be honest, I have no idea most of what you just said. :bowl:

the FAL also has an adjustable gas system, so that's good news.

Any experience with the silencerco sparrow? It seems pretty quiet (only shot it a few times) and the take down/cleaning seems really easy.

the glock 23 I bought brand new with 3 magazines for 398.20. The gun club where I buy my most of my guns has them listed for 499.

Any experience with the silencerco sparrow? It seems pretty quiet (only shot it a few times) and the take down/cleaning seems really easy.

I played with one when they first came out, good concept but I don't see the need for it. I have an AAC Prodigy II - same monolithic baffle style - and haven't had an issues getting it apart. Sooo.........?

I swapped out the rail on my 14.5" M4 the other day. The longer rail really gives me more room to work with finding a comfortable and supportive firing position. I also picked up another lower yesterday as it was my birthday and I want to start working on my SPR build. I'm sure it's gonna be a while until that is finished though. The glass alone is gonna be over $1200 on that. I'm leaning towards a Nightforce NXS Compact 2.5-10x32 (mil/mil) for it, I like the reticle and turret combo on the Nightforce over the Leupold offerings.

I certainly hope that whatever you're building is within compliance with local and Federal laws. You've heard of a Form 4473 right?

If you buy a receiver from an FFL, whether by itself or assembled as a gun, you must fill out the form 4473.

The idea that buying a gun in parts can somehow bypass this process is misinformed.

The only way to buy parts and not have anything registered or bypass all checks is to buy a 80% lower then assemble it after you finish milling the lower. Most people won't do this because you have to have the right equipment and skills to finish milling the lower. I doubt a machine shop will finish milling a lower for anyone either.

You can buy a firearm face-to-face from a resident of your state. Provided your state does not register firearms or firearm transactions, then .gov doesn't have a paper trail. Note, however, that this is true whether you are buying an entire gun or just the receiver.

So the suggestion that you should buy a gun in parts to avoid a paper trail is simply incorrect (unless, as SV_Dude suggested, you buy an 80% receiver -- but hardly anyone has the tools or skill to finish the receiver).

Firearms laws are hard enough to understand without people making stuff up.

I have 5 NightForces, and I must say that the Compact 2.5-10x32 (mil/mil) that I have on one of my KAC SR-15s is really is not as bright as I had hoped. I KNOW it is only 32mm
But I needed it to take a beating in the back of my 4runner and still work, so of course I kept it.
