Mags are FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that!!!!
Its got about 1.5 K worth of belts through it and it was 99.9%, but the belts get sprayed down with oil before doing a belt dump. Notice the feed tray? :)
 
is that the upgraded feed tray instead of the original aluminum one?

how many barrels did you get?

anyway, watch the rear lug on that upper; it's a weak point in the design, and I've seen several break...

Yes, upgraded feed tray. 3 barrels with.
I ALMOST sent in $1500, when Geoff set up to make them, glad I got an HK sear instead. :)

I have had several early ones and a few Beta versions through my hands to play with. They are pretty cool just from the weight side/ mags and belts. I'm am HK guy, but this is way better than a 23E.
The rear lug/ roller "Issue" is mostly caused from opening the top cover with the bolt closed/live round in chamber then closing the top cover without the roller in the actuator. As soon as it is fired the roller is not going to like it. :)
 
Anyone have any clue if the Vortex Viper 4-16x 44mm MRAD is a good scope. Found one for less than 250 lightly used and want to mount it on one of my 6940s as a beater scope for rain and snow--the kind of scope you don't mind trashing. I still don't have the mounting hardware so I've been just playing with it as a telescope and seem pretty pleased with the optics.

Also, anyone sick of their friends who "build" an AR by replacing the pistol grip and stock?

I'm cool with that, just don't say you're "building" an AR.

To me that means starting with a receiver and literally assembling it from the ground up.

It's more accessorizing, as my wife puts it. She recently put pink furniture on her M400.

OK so you want a laugh? This was a video we - My family - did in 2 days for a friend that is an instructor. Most references are all inside jokes but I think you will understand them. :)

I just want to give out a shout out to Vortex optics.

Got one of their scopes, it was chipped. They went out of their way to send me a replacement overnight the second they received notice that I had shipped mine by FedEx.

In other news I really want a 458 Socom upper. Those things just look badass.
 
Is it one of the M&P's without the forward assist? Looks that way from the photo.

I've always found it to be somewhat an overrated feature since your finger can push the bolt carrier assy forward just as easily.
