Elcans makes really nice glass. Flipping from 1 to 4 is so much quicker than going through the entire power range on a variable. It's not like very many shooters use the powers between 1 through 4 anyways. I've read where some users have complained about POI shift when switching powers but I've never experience that on my 1.5/6. Congrats and enjoy your early Christmas present and thanks for the gun porn!:50cal:

There have been POI shifts with these, but from what I gather it's almost always because they weren't zeroed properly from the start. That or the mount was starting to take a dump. But if you have it setup right it shouldn't shift any when switching between 1x and 4x. The glass is very nice on this and it has a very nice and functional reticule. Eye relief is pretty good as well.
I'm gonna take it out sometime in the next week or 2 and see how it does out to 300 yards.

Apparently optics are common gifts...to ourselves. My Christmas present - Vortex Razor Gen 2 4.5-27x56.
Taking it out past 800 yards this weekend to confirm my dope.

I just finished putting my father's lower together and needless to say.. I was surprised how easy it was.. It took 30 minutes and an Ipad.. and it was done.. I'm going to pick up a few more lowers before the new years and buy some uppers later on next year..

are these convicted Dui charges or appealed/withdrawn? I've seen DUI's get handled as misdemeanors as well as felonies. It really just depends on the state and how the DA processes the convictions.
My personal opinion no, with that said though I've seen people get DUI's from having a dose of cough medicine that morning or evening due to being sick.

For the sake of debate let's call it 3 or more DUI convictions.
Should this person, who is a proven danger to others and themselves be allowed to lawfully carry a concealed weapon?
I genuinely interested in the "yes" points as it relates to that question.
This is in regarded to a House Bill in Ohio right now if you were curious.

So most DUI's are convicted as misdemeanors, unless the conduct of the person charged with the DUI resulted in property damage, multiple vehicle accident, or injury to other persons.
Some states have a 3 DUI limit where the 4th DUI charge results in a felony regardless of what happened.
So for arguments sake lets say the person in question has 3 misdemeanor DUI convictions. Yes they should still under law be allowed to conceal carry. I argue this because there is a huge difference in getting a DUI for being belligerently 1.0+ BAC drunk or blowing a .09 BAC. Two different levels of bad decisions. One being a "should have had desert after dinner" and the other being "theres no way in hell I should have driven after that many drinks"
I can give someone several breaks for not waiting an extra hour before they were "legally" aloud to drive. However, someone that is knowingly drunk decides to get behind the wheel then there's no guarantee that they can make other safe decisions such as when and where to use, discharge, or show a firearm.
So if none of those 3 DUI convictions are Felony charges then I would agree that the convict in question should still maintain their right to Earn and use a conceal carry permit.
Here in MA, a first time DUI is a misdemeanor punishable by 2 1/2 years in jail. Since it is punishable by more than 2 years in jail, it meets the definition of "felony" under the federal felon-in-possession law. In other words, if you are convicted of a DUI in MA, you are a federally prohibited person and can not possess a firearm or ammunition for the rest of your life.

out of curiosity how likely is it for a 1st time DUI conviction recipient to actually get sentenced to 2.5 years in jail

Basically never. However the federal prohibition is based on the possible penalty, not the imposed penalty. In other words, even if a MA driver who is convicted of a first-time DUI never serves a day in jail, he is still a prohibited person for the rest of his life.
And there is basically no way short if a presidential pardon for him to get his gun rights back.

Bats, Hammers, and Knives indeed. Should we restrict people from carrying those as well? Maybe we should wrap DUI recipients hands in fluffy pillows so they can't hurt someone with those. Of course they could still choke someone. I'm sure you'd be in favor of whatever idiotic legislation that's proposed to stop that too... cause laws stop criminals.
In Texas, if you're convicted of a (one) felony, (any felony) you lose your right to maintain your CHL status. I'm unsure of what is required to regain the ability to carry but from what I understand it's very very difficult.
Imagine that, a conservative hell hole like Texas has smart laws about carrying a handgun. That must make your head spin right off your shoulders.
Glad I found this thread! Here is just two of the toys I have. LWRC M6IC-A5 FENRIR. Cerakoted in German field grey (think WW2 german uniform), Giessele SSA-E trigger, Vortex pst 1-4 riding in a ADM recon mount. At the end is my recently acquired Griffin Armament m4SD2 suppressor. And this is my first ar-15 too! Also, I'm a LWRC certified armorer.
Next to it is a bone stock m&p22 with a Griffin Armament Checkmate QD suppressor. These are my first two cans, but won't be the last! Also, I should mention I have about 8 more or so guns, but not any picture yet.
Griffin Armament is a great veteran own company. Highly recommend them if your in the market for some suppressors.
