is a budget build and I have a spare pair of sighs for it. for $397 dollars. you can't beat it and the barrel is an 1/9 twist with 5.56 stamped on it.

So I've found this fist clamp things and I'm considering putting them on the rear hatch of my 4Runner to hold an AR, shovel, axe, etc. I wanted to know on a scale of 1 to 10 how badly the police would react if they caught a glimpse (1 being gives me a high five and gives me 20 bucks and 10 being im going to jail). I live in SC so the gun laws in cars aren't written out in stone exactly. I think as long as I had it there completely unloaded I should be fine. Any opinions? I think it'd be pretty bad a$$.

my personal opinion is that quick clamps are a horrible idea. Leaving any firearm unsecure aka unlocked and out in the open is pretty irresponsible. Forget hi-fiving cops, how about a criminal walking by your vehicle.

If you really want to mount it to the hatch, do it right and look at companies that specialize in firearm mounting systems for vehicles such as santacruzgunlocks.com.

Also, not sure about the hatch struts on the 3rd gens but most likely you'll need to swap the stock ones out if you plan to add a 6-9lbs AR, 2 lbs shovel and a 4 lbs axe to it.

Before you do anything, you should check the gun laws in your state. Not something you want to go into it blindly.

Why? Firearms serve many purposes--being an aesthetic accessory for your hatch is not one of them.

I think you should go back a reread the law... California is pretty clear on their laws, at least they were when I lived there. I'd say you are about an 8-9... While no you probably won't go to jail as long as it s not stolen, and not loaded, its the dumbest idea I have heard of in a while. What are you gonna do with it when you stop at the store? Leave it there for someone to steal? Cops in Cali are not used to people exercising their 2nd amendment rights, and you would be asking for a chit storm IMO. You be getting hassled for what? To show off to a cop you don't know and doesn't care about you... Idk I think this idea is silly terrible but that's just me.

I have been eyeing the above but it seems heavy for a pocket carry gun. I want an LCP but I hate the way they shoot. The bodyguard is ugly and I keep reading about reliability issues. I dunno. Glock 42 is cool, but not as small as the others. Anyone have any ideas?

I have owned the Sig P238 for about 6 months now. It is a great sub compact and it shoots very, very nice. What you would expect from a Sig.

It might be borderline heavy for some, but depends your application. I just ordered an Alien Gear IWB holster since I live it Arizona and have limited options for carrying in the summer. It works good for me at 5'9" approx 165 lbs.

All in all, I would buy the P238 over again if given the chance. It is that good of a pocket gun. That is my 2 cents, however your individual results may vary...

We purchased a P238 back in the fall, and despite an initial extraction problem (fixed by a trip back to Sig), we've enjoyed it since.

I'd agree that it's too heavy for pocket carry. If I put it in my carry rotation, I too would use an IWB.

It's not going to be a permanent fixture, just something to transport it from my house too the range or camping etc. And by an axe, shovel, or ar I meant only one of the 3 not all of them.

Couldn't resist, picked up a Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 Crimson Trace for my B Day. It was priced at $385, got 10% off and a $50 mail-in rebate. My wife and I got back into shooting after 20 years without guns. We got rid of them when the kids got old enough to be curious. Now that they are grown and gone, we are back to the range.

I have an old .22LR CBC nylon that I found in my Mom's closet after she passed that belonged to my step-Dad. It's a replica of the Remmington model 66 Nylon. I also have a Ruger Mark III target model and a Springfield Armory .45ACP XD.

My wife has the Mossberg "Duck Commander" 702 plinkster, a Ruger Mark II target pistol and a S&W M&P .40.

I just picked up the fiber optic fully adjustable sights from Dawson Precision for the SA and S&W models and will have those tapped in this month.

You all have some damned fine looking weapons here! Thanks for sharing. :gun6: :thumb:

Take a look at the Sig P938. It's about the same size as the P238 you have listed above but shoots a 9mm instead of a .380. It handles the 9mm surprisingly well given its size. It's actually the best handling sub compact I have. At just over an inch thick, it's the thinness CCW that I have. It replaced my HKP2000sk (which replaced a Glock 27) as my EDC. The extra mag can be carried in your pocket like a pack of gum.

I have the Scorpion but they offer it in a bunch of different finishes. I replaced the Sig grips with VZ 320 Carbon Fiber grips. Here's a pic of it next to its full size cousin for size comparison.

two simple choices from me.

Star Firestar M243 9mm. with a small 3.5in barrel, 9mm, a very good self defense/conceal carry weapon.

and for home defense

a solid choice of a Remington pump action 870 Express 12 guage with the plastic stocks.
I also have what looks to be a 50-60 yr old flip-cock-open 12 guage one-shot shotgun, given to me by my mother in law when her husband passed away. i havnt shot it, and dont think i ever will, but it looks cool

Not sure about what year and country so I'm not much help there - all I know is that the hex receivers are the more valued. If you do get one, pick up a CR Surplus Finnish Mosin Nagant Sear Spring / Bolt Stop
