My completed lower. So far it's just a Rock River Arms stripped lower with a Palmetto State Armory magpul ctr lower build kit.

Nice and CTR's are the bomb..use them and also SOPMODs for some platforms...nice build and just a...most lowers are made by the same vendors anyway and shipped and stamped..looks good

Unfortunately, the new regs back in July had dealers selling suppressors closer to MSRP so prices actually increased. Luckily, the prices have normalized as the demand has decreased. The only way you'll see prices drop further on NFA items is by deregulating them.

Best case scenario based on what is on the table now:
1. Hearing Protection Act (HPA) introduced in Oct 2015 is passed and suppressors are removed from NFA restrictions
- With the removal of suppressors, the backlog of other NFA items like SBR, SBS, MG, SBS, AOW, etc. will decrease and we'll see the turn around times go back down - prices will remain the same for these firearms
2. With suppressors only requiring a background check like any firearm, existing inventory will be depleted so finding any in stock after it passes will be almost impossible - dealers will probably raise prices on existing inventory to maximize profit
3. New manufacturers will enter the market to help supply the increased demand which will lead to innovation which will also lower costs

HPA is positioned as a public health bill so it has a better chance of passing sooner since it will still require a background check (aka satisfy democrats). As opposed to removing full-auto weapons from the NFA which is purely a 2A bill.

Nice to see your dialed in...it's funny the irony of the HPA..have almost every Continent under my belt , and many OCONUS ...Europe..for ex...have mandatory laws to suppress some weapons....whole other debate because of the heavy restrictions on weapons too but here ...mmmm liked Ronny but NFA..c'mon... but times are a changing soon...we shall see

All good w/experimentation but put a reflex sight on that system and tell us what u think or open high sights .....or hell maybe that setup balances it perfectly...

They are changing for sure but here is how it stands now for NFA items.

Illegal: Machine Gun and Short barrel shotguns

OR
Legal: everything (MG, AOW, DD, Suppressors, SBS and SBR)
Illegal: nothing

Add NC to that list, as of Jan 1st 2017 LEO's must sign off on NFA items if the applicant is qualified with a typical background check. That is even to include full automatics and short barrel shotguns. Before hand, we could apply all day but the sheriffs could just ignore the applicants.

Now I know there are 'better' more specific forums for this but looking for thoughts on my next suppressor

Its going to most likely for ARs as I have multiple, they are all 14.5s and 16s with a 10.5. Not likely to go shorter unless it was in 9mm but that's something else.

At this time I don't own a 7.62/308 gun, but I could see owning one again.

Do I strictly look at a 5.56 specific can or opt for a 7.62 one with its primary use on a 5.56 rifle. I have to assume the sound reduction is better on a 7.62 than it would be on the 5.56 rifle since it wasnt specifically designed for 5.56.

I know HPA is in the works but there is no promise and I might as well get the ball rolling.

Thoughts? Personal experiences?
