Official T4R "Firearms" thread

Do some research on our active and retired military. How many of them there are, the oaths they take and the type of people they are and what they believe in and why they fight/fought in the first place.

Picture a million+ strong network of folks standing up for their rights and their liberty- and you believe they will be easily dealt with-?!?!?!?.

This is also why the Japanese did not attack the US main land. Also why our government is kept in check and we remain FREE.
I will be in thick of things if the need arises, that is a commitment if I have to explain you will never understand.
You get it some don't, it's a shame that some are willing to give up freedoms for false security.

Charlievee, I have one safe queen that hasn't been shot in 50 yr, 156 yr old Colt Navy revolver, NRA rated 92% it's for looking at.

lol you certainly are persistent

Bodie, before I go down this rabbit hole with you any further- please, please, PLEASE answer me this...

What type of regulation /legislation do you want and how would it make a difference/stop atrocities from happening?
.

I certainly do understand that we are not a democracy. You can use the way back machine to find my rantings from about two decades ago about that subject. And justice depends upon how much money you have.

But we are still a nation of law, and need to play by the rules. Pay your taxes, don't cheat, stop at stop signs. It is true that previous generations have seen huge changes in the world, and anything is possible in the future. But it is also true that the clear and present danger, happening right now, everyday, is the mass shooting epidemic. I choose my words carefully, and by any definition, it IS an epidemic. Folks are willing to spend 9 Billion Dollars on a wall, when most illegal entries are at established ports of entries. How about we devote that money to fixing the mass shooting crisis?

The first step is to figure out just how bad the problem is. This has been seriously hampered by legislation and active opposition from the NRA and their bough-and-paid-for politicians. They have passed legislation which prevents local and federal dollars being spent on the research! Why? If we can't even study the problem, how can we determine how bad it is and how we can fix it? If a certain medication was killing 40,000 people per year in the U.S., do you think, maybe, the Center for Disease Control would be able to study it?

Further, why can the NRA accept dark money and not have to report its source? Why do they get such preferential treatment? And then thrown in that Russian agent/NRA member who is getting sentenced this week. But that's a whole 'nother story, lol. (I used to get called a communist on a weekly basis, now, "Russia is our Friend!!!")

No links, because I'm typing this stream of consciousness, but I can provide links to all I'm positing here if requested.

What little information we do have, both from limited studies by groups like the SPLC, shows that the background check system is not being enforced. Everybody knows someone, who gives them a waiver, or then there's the LEO staff who pistol-whip the signature line for thousands of apps., because LEO's do often think like you. Or that sheriff in Isleton who was giving Concealed Permits to anyone who applied, just because he didn't agree with the law.

And then there's loopholes like the gun show purchase, unless that's been closed finally? Or how about people who manufacture ghost guns, even in jurisdictions like California where that is illegal? I guarantee the local cops know who has AR's without serial numbers in Colfax, CA. One of the manufacturers just got popped, finally, selling receivers openly on Craig's List.

But the local cops knew what he was doing. But He's a nice guy, they go jeeping with him, so why arrest him?

If you are active in the shooting community, please admit, you have to know at least one guy who shouldn't own any guns. For me, that's a firefighter buddy of mine, in his late 40's, owns probably two dozen weapons. He buys them obsessively. Two teenagers, big financial problems, just got evicted even, but he won't sell any guns. Oh and he lies on the forms, because he is so whacked out, he had himself committed in the past for electroshock therapy. I'm really not making this stuff up. How is he still getting guns? One of his teenage daughters (who owns two handguns) was also recently held on a 5150 over the weekend. I propose that someone like that SHOULD have their guns taken away.

My aunt died "accidently" while cleaning her husband's shotgun. He is tea billy trash of the old school sort, West Virginia.

I have many more bandcamp stories, involving tragedy and guns. So we need to start, we need to try. This whole "we can't do anything about it anyway" is bullshit. You think you can take on the federal government, but you can't do anything about cutting back on gun violence? Nuts again.

Why can't we at least study it?

sooo...........

Can we get back on the topic of admiring banana's, and ignore the libtard banana haters plz...

Since I live in the communist state of Kaliforniastan, all my banana's disappeared in a boating accident a few years back.

"Not one inch backwards!" is what the Stalinists said as they shot their comrades in the back. LULZ Russia is our friend! /s

I’m sorry your girl lost. Having said that, are you one of those people who are constantly saying “I support the 2nd amendment BUT....” ?

Dude, you hit on every major milquetoast talking point of antigunners without even attempting to answer my question.

Ghost guns. Check. NRA/Russians. Check. Gun show loophole. Check.

It’s ridiculous. Try some critical thinking, get away from the talking points of Antigun talkingheads and try again.

The only real point you’ve logically made that I can speak to is current laws not being enforced- and therein lies a huge problem.

You want more laws, but won’t expound on that- I implore you to and to be incredibly Specific. But the ones we have on the books aren’t even being enforced or working. Think about that for more than a nano second.

Studies? Oh boy- we have a lot. Most get ignored as they don’t feed the hysteria and BS of those attacking the Bill of Roghts.

Again, if you really did the research and didn’t eat what’s being spoon fed to you; and it’s obvious you are with your positing such BS as “ghost guns” and “gun show loophole” etc- you may find some really useful info and metrics to form a a more informed opinion.

I’ve posted TONS of data points here on T4R. Mostly I get crickets or regurgitated biased agenda ridden hyperbole.

If you can’t be direct with what exactly you want done legislatively and how it would have stopped a mass shooting, there’s really nothing left to discuss as you
Are just using BS talking points from The antigunner (antirights) crowd and going in circles- which is going nowhere.

Lastly- the SPLC is a fvcking joke. We CAN do something about our issue where in the USA, but it is about tackling mental health and crime not stomping on the rights of the folks who follow the laws.

Take the gun deaths we have each year and subtract suicides (mental health) and gang related (by the way it’s like 5 zip codes responsible for most of those gun deaths when suicides are separated) and you have basically accidents and cray cray mass shootings. A few crimes of passion.

Guns are inanimate objects. They aren’t evil. They can’t do harm. Humans are evil and capable of doing harm. People will commit evil acts with or without guns and laws don’t stop them from doing it.

Look at the worst mass shootings in the world over the past 20 years- they’re in countries with incredibly restrictive firearms laws! That’s a clue, bro.

Look at the countries with the most restrictive firearms laws and there murder and violent crime rates. Sure, the murders are with different inanimate objects than firearms, but they mostly have higher per capita murder and violent crime rates! That’s a clue, bro!

You mean the part where I propose actually enforcing the existing background checking requirements? That would have caught some of these guys, including the Pulse shooter? Here's a link, from a conservative organization: Florida Fails To Conduct Background Checks for Concealed Weapons | Fortune

SHow me a study about gun violence, please. There aren't many. Care to address the NRA lobbying to prevent said studies? So at least you agree failure to enforce existing laws is a problem, but you don't want to expound upon it? Ok, one point for me at least.

The SPLC is a joke? Is that because they shut down the KKK? And are now going after local Cali groups like the Trad Workers party? Seriously? The most effective org at fighting domestic white nationlist type terrorism is a joke in your book? OMG, you really are the real deal, 1%'er, aren't you?

Suicides are relevant, why would you discount them from gun deaths? Lack of easy access to a gun does prevent suicides. Are you really ignoring the whole Australia experiment? Just because you don't like the results doesn't mean they're lib b.s.

And why DO you keep ignoring topics like ghost guns and the gun show loophole? Are you not familiar with what I'm talking about? It is illegal to manufacture receivers in Ca which do not have serial numbers. Darn that pesky law. And yet the guy got away with it for years, even with the knowledge of local LEO's. That is a problem. They'll be the first to tell you they are there to enforce the law, not interpret it. And yet they did. And this goes on all over the nation. "Ah he's a good guy, he wouldn't shoot anyone. Let's just overlook those previous domestic abuse convictions...."

So to address your question again, I think we need to enforce the existing laws, hold people accountable who break them (like that dad who gave his serial killer son the guns), and then study the issue like we would any other thing which is killing Americans. And if we need to put some restrictions on gun types, ammo, etc., well, if they're founded in common sense, then good!

If you're going into the gun rights thing with the basic belief that you may need them to fight your own government, well then, I think you've already lost. Self defense, hunting, sure, but armed insurrection?

Shoot and scoot, that lone guy with a good rifle, is effective, but it doesn't save countries from oppressors. Wolverines!!!!!

Are you, by any chance, a white supremacist/nationalist? I'm not trying to get in a zinger here, I just really gotta wonder after your comment about the SPLC. And your fear of the government. Our government sucks. But if we ever reach the point where we have to get out our guns, we've already lost.

On edit: I support Bernie Sanders. Screw the Clintons.

Oh boy, this is fun. Sad but fun. There you go. If you use logic and disprove a commiefornia librail, your a white nationalist, racist, homophobe, islamaphobe... All around negative talking point that plays on one's emotional, political correct need to be recognized as a social norm.

Dude. This is my last response as you have shown you don't want to do anything but sling shit and be unproductive.

I'm not white nor a "supremacist" of any sort.

The SPLC is a hate group. What is has done or once was is irrelevant at this point. It may be a hate group you agree with, but it doesn't change that it is a hate group and an out of control organization that is fomenting extremist ideals and hate.

There are TONS of studies into "gun violence". The FED may not be conducting many in the last 20 years, but that doesn't change the studies that exist nor does it change the findings of such studies- gun restrictions do NOTHING to stop violent crime nor death.

Here's bu tone recent study from John Hopkins & UC Davis on your local Cali laws not making an ounce of difference on gun deaths- including suicide rates over states without these laws:
California’s Background Check Law Had No Impact on Gun Deaths, Johns Hopkins Study Finds

People who want to kill themselves- do it, with or without a gun. It is more a mental health issue than a gun issue which is what I was pointing out, and you blatantly missed. Folks who are mentally will and want to hurt themselves or others will do so with or without a gun as a tool to do so and they will circumvent all laws to obtain a gun or other devices to do so.

I could post study after study, but it isn't going to change your mind. You are so emotionally involved and invested, you cannot even recognize your own BS.

The "Pulse nightclub shooter" passed his background check. Again, it was a mental health problem. Not a gun problem, nor a legal problem.

Yes, I will expound upon it- existing laws should be enforced, like gangsters committing crimes with guns getting pats on the wrist and returning to the streets to commit more heinous crimes... in liberal cities with liberal judges and DA"s that just let this shit perpetuate.

Again, I could go on, but its worthless with your mentality.

"Founded in common sense" well, that's a laugh, another BS talking point from the left. Common sense from whose point of view? It's purely subjective!

EG- what I find to be common sense is vastly different and diametrically opposite of what you find to be common sense. This is obvious from our posts, herein.

"Going into the gun rights thing..." The whole "Gun rights thing" is LITERALLY about fighting tyranny and defending ones life and Rights. It has nothing to do with hunting or sporting.

News flash, reality beyond your media riddled brain- there is no "gun show loophole".

There are private party sales. Some states outlaw this and some don't.

Gun shows around the nation require FFL background checks be conducted. Online sales require FFL background checks to be conducted.

This is yet another BS talking point you don't even have the basic understanding of reality to discuss beyond what you've been told to believe by the leftist media.

Ghost guns!?!?! We do NOT have national firearm registry laws here in the USA. So what is this obsession with NOT being able to "trace" a gun? The vast majority of guns are absolutely untraceable!

The only folks upset about not being able to trace all guns are the ones wanting to TAKE them away at some point.

As if the criminals who use guns in crimes would go through the trouble of buying an 80% lower and doing the machining themselves before using the gun in a crime! HA- they don't follow laws already, they just buy illegal shit with filed off serial numbers or steal them and file the serial numbers off themselves.

Crafting your own unregistered unserialized gun has been legal in all 50 states, FOREVER.

IF you think you can stop people from making their own guns, you would have to outlaw ALL machine and tooling shops and machinery/tools. Period.

Again, not to mention, criminals just steal or buy stolen shit in the first place and rarely take the time or labor to make their own shit.

You're an anti-gun and anti-rights extremist.

Bernie Sanders is a complete moron and is a complete joke. The policies he wants are ludicrous and would not work as you wish or intend them to, as evidenced yet again by a lot fo historical evidence.

Theres a theme here- history has many lessons, none of which you are willing to learn nor understand.

Your premise of regulating certain types of firearms or ammo is just naive- tons of countries do this and, yet- STILL have mass shootings- some of the worst in the world.

I do believe you make these assertions with the hope of helping or saving people, good intentions. But good intentions are worthless without logic or reality.

Why is it that societies with the most firearms have the fewest violent crimes and overall murder rates per capita?

It's a clue, and obvious to anyone that can run two grey cells together- because criminals will always be armed and always break laws to hurt others and benefit themselves, but only societies where people can arm themselves to defend themselves will have a chance at overcoming the acts of criminals.

Well, Thai? Did I make my point?

How many names have I been called now in this thread? Are you, Slinger, really running away when I ask for clarification about your hatred of an anti-hate organization?

Straight up. Own your own words. How is the SPLC a hate group?

Oh, and from today's news, here's a link about the Colorado gun law, and the sheriff who believes it WOULD have saved his deputy's life. This Colorado sheriff is willing to go to jail rather than enforce a proposed gun law - CNN

That article is another example of how LEO's are interpreting the law to benefit gun enthusiasts, instead of just enforcing the law.

Are you not researching these issues? Check again about how the Pulse shooter got his guns. The LEO responsible says she couldn't log into her computer. For over a year. That's an excuse, a problem, that is easily fixed. She didn't want it fixed though. And yet you're saying the guy passed his background check? Nuts. That's like saying climate change isn't real because its cold outside. When the facts are out there, and yet we can't agree on them, you're right, this thread is going nowhere. The pulse shooter passed his backgrounds, because the LEO's responsible didn't enforce the law.

But you just want to hate on liberals, eh? Why do you keep throwing that term out there? It is not that simple. I am certainly not that simple. A gun owner who voted for Reagan. I used to roll with a confederate flag in my back window, a big one.

And why would you attack me when I asked for clarification on the gun show loophole? And then to disambiguate by talking about the proper term is "private party sales." You sound like a Clinton, or a lawyer for the tobacco companies. "That depends on the meaning of IS." We all know what I'm talking about. Address the point instead of attacking me.

Oh but that's right, you're done talking with me about this. Because us liberals are such snowflakes, right? Like that guy in the bar last week, who almost punched me because I said, "I bet you live in Quintette, and drive a Jeep." Bahahahaha, good times.

So again, why do you think the group that took out the KKK is a hate group? You are openly praising 3%'ers, many of whom do have white supremecist associations, but you're surprised when I ask if you're also affiliated? Bless your little heart, I guess you are living a sheltered life (but one where you still need an EDC, just to go out for lunch, lulz). Me, I see skins every fricken week, and I do call them on their crap. They feel comfortable around me because I do hunt and own guns and I do wear camouflage, so they let their true colors show. And they sound JUST LIKE YOU.

Nor have you addressed the NRA dark money/Storm Daniels connection.

And the general idea behind gun regulation, behind any law, is to prevent crime, to discourage people from breaking the law. Just because you're a thief, doesn't mean you know where to buy an illegal gun. Being a criminal does not make you automatically a master criminal, capable of circumventing laws to get illegal weapons. The idea is to make it harder. DId you read that link about the sheriff in Colorado? I guess in your world, he's a liberal, too?

This is about extremism. As someone else said, "not one inch backwards."

Nuts again. Compromise. People are being slaughtered in churches, in school, when out having fun, and yet "not one inch backwards" in defense of our guns! That is insanity. Literally, insanity, as in no conscience, psychopathy.

Maybe we need to start an off topic thread, "The Ultimate Conservative vs. Liberal Debate Thread," instead of clogging this thread, ha.

Oh boy, this is fun. Sad but fun. There you go. If you use logic and disprove a commiefornia librail, your a white nationalist, racist, homophobe, islamaphobe... All around negative talking point that plays on one's emotional, political correct need to be recognized as a social norm.

If it walks like a duck....

This is my experience in life. Leave the mall and come out to the hills, and I'll show you some genuine, Deliverance country kind of crap. We have KKK, Trad Worker Party, Soldiers of Odin, and proud boys in this area, lol. Quite a diverse bunch of haters. I carry spray paint in my 4runner so I can cover up their crap.

And you're complaining about negative talk points, after calling me a "commiefornia librail?" Stay in school. Don't do drugs. Use protection.

Yep, I have the education i need, even seen the world and what gun grabbing socialist have done to it. I will not set foot in California, barley go to NY anymore to see family as it makes me feel like I'm behind enemy lines. I will stay in places that I am innocent until proven guilty and can protect myself if required. Take a look at what has become of your Democratic party and tell me its not filled with haters. Didn't know you could still but spray paint, doesn't it hurt the ozone? Maybe you can add it to the things to ban list.
