Offroad bumper and license plate lights?

New member
Finally got my truck back with new rear bumper installed but the question that came up today was light for the license plate. The solution the shop came up with is not the best. What has everyone else done about the lighting? I have though about just not putting a light back there. Any thoughts would be helpful

That's exactly what I used. Mine came from amazon, but they probably all come from China.

While the light isn't as uniform as it is on the hatch, I don't expect much due to how close the lights have to be. In the end, the whole plate is lit and nobody is gonna pull me over for it. Then again...nobody pulled me over for the 15 months I didn't have any lights and the plate was just out there in the dark...

Is what I used, then found where i wanted it tapped a hole in the bumper for the screws and put it in. Its super bright and use it to back up now. For wiring i ran it to my tail light wiring so it's only on when my lights are on. Super clean Super simple.
