Offroad/camping areas

Ok SoCal Runners, I need your help here. My girl and I are trying to find a spot to camp out for a few nights somewhere we can take the quad, dirtbike and put the runner in some dirt. We are in long beach so anything is better than camping at the beach.

OK first place that comes to mind is Gorman aka Hungry Valley ORV park (FEE even with Forrest Service Pass)off I-5 North of LA. Huge place with camping areas and trails for 4x4's and dirtbikes/quads. If you want a small place you can explore almost entire thing in a day with shaded camping/picnic area there is Wildomar OHV (Forrest Service pass only NO FEE) I usually use the 2nd for a day trip with my young kids and picnic lunch. Anza Borrego/ Ocotillo Wells is also good but about 150m drive from Long Beach near the Salton Sea. El Mirage Dry Lake near Hesperia off Hwy 395. Last two places are Desert mixed terrain.

Other then that you have a lot of areas in Big Bear area but the trails are more restricted for the quads and bikes between Green Sticker and some are labeled Street Legal only. So can be a pain to find trails suitable for all your toys in one central area.

Hungry Valley ORV park, :bigok: they have good trails, easy and hard. good camping spot no reservations needed & they have a lot of campsites.

Hungry Valley is a fun place to play around on quads and dirtbikes, also a great place to get to first try out your 4Runner in the dirt.

I actually think I will be there on Sunday.
