No costs, no fees, first come first served! It is on BLM land and was rebuilt by volunteers and the BLM. If other folks had shown up while I was there then other rooms were empty and they would be able to move on in, sort of youth hostel style. But if the cabin is full you'd have to pitch a tent or go back home...
