As if you hadn't figured, Im new around here....Im sure i'll have lots of questions in the near future as i will soon be a 3rd gen 4runner owner. Yep, i don't even have one yet, but i've always wanted one. Im at that point in my life where i want a new fixation and i just happen to need a car at the same time. Having a company car I haven't needed my own ride for a couple yrs now. I spend most of my riding and wrenching time on my motorcycle soooo, back to the 4runner. currently looking at a couple different one's locally, oh and locally is RI for me. Im looking at an 00 sr5, auto, with 95k listing for 9800, i haven't driven this one yet... and an 01 sr5, auto, w/ 124k which i did drive and loved it. only real difference besides yrs that i can tell is the 01 has leather, which i could care less about. I talked this dealer down from 9900 to 8500, but now having an issue getting financing for a 9 yr old truck, this from a toyota dealer....makes no sense. why have a truck on the lot that they can't finance! the 00 is at a buy here/pay here kind of dealer. any advice? what to look for, not look for? also looking to find some beginner trails in the new england area if anyone can point me in a direction. but 1st things 1st. purchase truck!
