Oil cap gone!

So I screwed up pretty bad. Got home a couple days ago and noticed i had a lot of oil leaking out. I opened the hood and my oil cap was gone! Oil is absolutely everywhere as you can imagine. I tried doing some searches on the best way to clean the engine bay but still not sure what to do.

Any advice? Steam it or just take it to the car wash? I've read that steaming the motor can be bad for it.

I would just cover the engine bay in degreaser.. let it sit for a few than power wash the crap out of it.. watch for the distributor and air filter.. after just wipe it down

Probably a stupid question but if the dist does get wet, then what? Will it be fine after it dries up or is it screwed?

The spark plug wires may not fire if the distributor gets wet.
Do not blast the engine bay because the pressurize water may get into places you do not want. Use some Simple Green, let it set, let breakdown the oil then hit it with some more Simple Green use a scrub bug (the dish brushes work great for getting into tight spots) then use a light blast of water. Again try to avoid electrical components with the high pressure water.
