I have a 2000 4runner with 125k. Trying to do my first oil change on it. Can anyone give step by step on how to do it? also all the parts that i will need to do the oil change and what oil is recommended? ive been using regular conventional oil but been told to switch to full synthetic cause of high miles and stop n' go driving conditions. co-worker told me to get castrol edge w/ syntec and said once i switch oil can go 15-20k before another oil change. give me some input and directions. thanks!

Put a pan of some sort (a cat litter pan works good) under the oil pan drain plug, then remove the plug to let the oil drain out.
Remove the oil filter, be careful, it's full of oil. Then let it drain into the container.
Put the drain plug back into the pan.
Smear a few drops of new oil onto the rubber gasket of the new filter and install it. A little past hand tight is good, you want to be able to remove it next time.
Remove oil fill cap on valve cover and pour in the correct amount of oil required for your engine.
Start engine and check drain plug and filter for leaks.
Properly dispose of old oil.
