Talk about being upset!!! My Toyota dealer informed me this last week that our new 4Runner warranty would be voided if I chose to change the oil myself. He said that the Toyota 0w20 synthetic oil must be used and it must be changed at the dealership to maintain warranty.
I have contacted the regional Toyota office, but have yet to receive a reply. I'm afraid as much as we like this truck, I will sell it the minute the two year service expires if I do indeed have to have the dealership perform the oil changes in order to keep the warranty valid.
What a rip off to have to pay upwards of $100 for an oil change! This is our second Toyota (first was an 09 Venza), but more than likely our last.
