The saga continues... 1991 4Runner 3VZE
I decided after blowing the horseshoe shaped hose at the back of the block I should flush out all the lines.
After starting I couldn't believe how clogged up everything was. Hoses to the rear heater unit were totally clogged with rust.
So I finally got all the lines flushed out and replaced with new genuine Toyota stuff. The last lines I'm getting to are the oil cooler lines and am having some difficulty getting water to flow thru the cooler when flushing from the water pump side.
Figured it was quitting time when I split my right index finger open on one of the hose support clips by the oil filter. It's taken me about 15 minutes to type this with all the typos from the bandaids.
Has anyone ever tried flushing out the cooler from the water pump side? I am looking the the output hose from the oil cooler and it looks like a royal ***** to get at. Maybe I'm just being lazy and don't want to replace it just yet as I'm trying to get the vehicle ready for two weeks in Hatteras, or take the Suburban if I can't get the runner reliable enough by the end of the month.
