Oil drain plug plastic cover

I need a replacement cover for the oil drain plug access on my 2007 V6 SE. This is a flimsy plastic piece with clips to hold it in the oval cut-out. Any pointers on either a better replacement or where to get this piece? Probably only a dealer item, and I am not looking forward to how much they may want for a new one...

And, yes, the loss of this piece did involve mud, gravel and smiles!

I think almost everyone on here has lost this piece.
It's not essential so don't waste your money to replace it. You'll just end up losing it again.

I'll trade you my driveline clunk for it! :D

Lube your rear drive shaft slip yoke instead.

Lots of threads and controvery on the forum to search for this concern.

That plastic lid is only $ 16.00 (at least at my local Toyota).

Gulp only $16? I lost mine - looking to make a replacement out of 50 cents worth of polished 1/16 aluminum diamond plate. I can't see that being but a $3 piece even if it has a Yota logo on it. Geeze. Lost mine on highway commute so no good story there to justify $16.

I'm thinking along the same lines as wolfgang. Probably will make a metal cover (same gauge as the rock shield down there) and attach it with some kind of quick-release screw or clip. Should keep some dirt and debris from getting in there...
