My search skills are apparently lacking as I cannot seem to find the answer to a question I thought would be simple enough: what size is the oil drain plug for a 2019 4Runner? I'd like to order one of the Stahlbus valves but would like to know what size without laying on the ground and taking off skid plates to find out what size I need. Any help?

You don’t need to remove the skids to access the oil drain bolt. There is a small cover that has two bolts holding it in place.

If you mean the thread size, it’s metric M12-1.25.

My apologies Sir. I misread your post and didn't see that you want to put a valve in. I believe [MENTION=200736]ElectroBoy[/MENTION] has the right info. Bolt size would be M12-1.25. I put a Fumoto valve on my 5th gen and this is the drain plug. So it should be the same. Sorry about that.Therein lies the issue...
Yeah, I've slipped a socket over it and it's a 14mm but is that necessarily what the bolt is? I just changed my oil so I'd prefer not to drain new oil just to figure this out but the only two posts here (thank you both) suggest different sizes

Or could be just because I don't drive it much so only gotten around to changing oil once.

ElectroBoy, how do you like the Valvomax? Thinking of putting one on my truck. i have RCI full skids so will there be adequate room to attach the drain tool?

Hi Dave, I don’t have RCI skids but I hear that the oil filter access door is pretty sweet, and the oil filter drain tool (Motivx) would work really well.
I'm pretty happy with the Valvomax oil drain system (valve and drain tool). You shouldn’t have any clearance problems attaching the tools with any kind of skids.

I'm running Shrockworks engine skid and the drain hole is about 33mm.
Thinking of installng the Valvomax. I don't have to drop the skid to install it but my question is: can you easily turn the Valvomax cap by hand to install the drain tube? Seems like a pretty tight fit to get your fingers in there.

Well, I don't think this will work...
The hole in the skid is just over 33mm. The hex nut on the Valvomax is 24mm. The knurled cap is at least the same diameter, so no way to get any fingers in there to remove.
Also, the drain cap is even wider!
I'll look into the Fumoto but if I have to drop the skid to install...uggh !!!

I've been looking at three in particular. The Fumoto, ValvoMax and Stahlbus. The Fumoto has that plastic clip (lock) that I'm sure I would loose or it would break. I also don't like the idea of that little lever...some day it fails or moves for some unknown reason...and presto no oil. The ValvoMax and Stahlbus I like. The Stahlbus seems more streamlined, compact and easier to store the release valve when done. Either one of these for me makes sense. Any thoughts on either of these two from experienced users. Also, any advice on thread size either of these require for proper fit 2018 TRD Off Road Premium. Thank you for any advice or help offered.

I have a 2018 ORP. I use the ValvoMax. I like it, less mess, drain right into your recycling jugs. The thread size is metric M12-1.25.
