I was wondering if I can change OEM oil filter every 8k miles. I will replace oil (Mobil 1 synthetic) every 4k miles but change filter every other oil change. Not sure if OEM filter media will hold up up to 8k miles.



Thinking of transitioning to Mobil 1 filter, which I think is good for 15-20k miles with synthetic oil.

No to the mobile filters. The WIX XL size is actually good till 10k. drain and fill at 5k. There is/was a fella on here that is extremely knowledgeable with this and he is a mechanic. Last I saw her was doing 10k on WIX XL. I run the cheapest name brand high mileage oil at walmart 10w30 Valvoline conventional. Synthetic will find a way to leak.
