Oil filter question

I have a couple filters part number 90915-YZZG2, got them at the dealer last time I was in town. this is not the part number I am finding on this site for an 2001 4runner v6. is this the correct filter for my 4runner? not due for an oil change for about 1500 miles, but the dealer is 63 miles away so if these are wrong I need to make a trip to swap them out. Thanks for your help

Looks like they are using an older part number. Should be the same as a D1

I am not sure if you are aware of this but using the search feature will not always get a person the information they are looking for.

Actually it does. I've used it a hundred times and can always find what I'm looking for. You just have to open the thread and look for it. Not to mention that there are 2 other threads active right now with oil filter part numbers in them.

I am aware of that, but that is were i got that part #.

If the search feature is so good you would have found the following information then right? He wasn't asking about the YZZD1 filter which is the designated filter for the 3rd Gen, but the YZZG2 also fits with no issues. Here's a good link that covers oil filters for Toyota's.

[MENTION=82730]nail bender[/MENTION] The YZZG2 filter replaced the YZZG1, and the YZZG1 filter works on 3rd Gen's. The YZZD1 will also work.

Thanks to all for the information. I now know the filters I have are correct for my engine, which is what I was trying to determine

Had I bothered to care enough to try I'm sure I would have but instead I just go to O'reilly's and get a wix filter and some cheap dino oil or just drop it off at the local quicky lube and let them deal with it.

Shame on you! I'll never go back to one of those places again. After them not tightening a drain plug once was enough for me.
