Oil filter wrench for 2002 4Runner?

Will this wrench work for a 2002 4Runner? I looked at it the other day and it seems easy to reach through the wheel well but just akward to grip it and turn, I can't use a band wrench.

Seriously, I have a similar design filter wrench and love it, I use it all of the time on other vehicles. My '07 V6 has super easy filter access so I don't use it on my T4R...

It looks like it will be pretty easy to reach but just takes the right tool I guess.

should be the same as my 01. I jusr use a standard end cap for a socket wrench and bought a 3 foot extension for a few bucks at harbor Freight.
I turn the whee and can reach all the way in without troublre

Did you have to remove the fender liner and clips first ??

I have an 02. I changed the oil myself for the first time, but was changing the front diff at the same time, so I had my skid plate off and was able to reach the filter easier from underside. But next time, I think I wil invest in one of those with the extension. You are right that a band wrench will not work reaching through the side, I tried that first.

I had a 2000 Tacoma with the same engine. Yes, you could reach through the wheel well, but then you're left with an oily mess on the skid plate. I bit the bullet and removed the skid plate every time.

On my 01 their isn't a need to remove the fender clips. I can reach thru the gap. I do remove the skid plate to prevent an oily mess.
