I was one of those who found out a little too late that Toyota switched the "free service " oil changes to 10K miles instead of the 5K norm. I decided to change the oil myself at 5K. I was surprised to see a $5.00 price on the Toyota oil filter?? I was about to buy an STP or Fram until I called the Toyota parts dept at my dealership. I thought I saw a comment on this forum showing a Toyota filter costing $12.00??
