oil leak

Im having trouble finding an oil leak. Looking at the engine, its on the left side. I took the air cleaner off and checked the valve covers and didnt find anything. I can see oil on top of the a/c and all over the skid plates. I didnt see any oil coming off the right side. Any ideas where it might be coming from?

Is the oil filter on there tight? How about the drain bolt?

I would tighten the valve cover bolts and see if the leak(s) go away.

oil filter is on the other side from where the leak seems to be. I checked and there is no oil from there. None from from drain plug

Check the valve cover bolts then. It could be leaking out of the semi circular plugs in the head, which would require pulling the covers for access.

Take some pics and post them.

I would look at valve cover gasket the cam seal or the valve half moon.

I have similar wicking @ the front left aswell like you do, but the other pictures are just excessive. You might just have to degrease everything real good and then keep an eye on it every couple of days to see where the oil staining begins. And Ttech is right about the cam seals. Its possible its coming from there and you cant see it without removing the timing belt cover and inspecting things behind there.

I'd make sure the valve cover bolts aren't looks and like said, clean it up and watch it close is what I always end up having to do!

I pulled the cover for the timing belt and it looks like a little oil from behind the cam gear. Will i need to remove the timing belt and gear to change the cam seal or the half moon?

Cam seal-yes

Semi-circular plug (half moon) - no.

The pictures you posted look pretty wet for it to be a "little oil from behind the cam". Are you sure it's not power steering fluid? Your reservoir is right above where all the wet pics were taken.

if i pull the valve cover off should i be able to determine where the leak is?

+1 with K-ball.

Pulling the valve cover off may help, but your best bet is to clean the area up well, then drive it again and you may be able to see more clearly where the leak is coming from.

i double checked the power steering pump, didnt see anything leaking from there
