Oil leak ?

I Just bought this 97 ltd 3.4l and i noticed it has a oil leak down the back side of both heads and is dripping onto the steering rack, in the service history that came with it(yes this guy was freaking awesome and had all his receipts) I found the valve cover gaskets were replaced 10k ago but i guess this was the actual problem.

I am a accoplished technician and am just curious if anyone else has had this leak it appears to be comming from what looks to be the cam end plugs. they look like they are a pain to do cause of the clearance between the head and the firewall.

Anyone have any experiance or tips for repairing these?

Yea Iv done them a few times. They are fairly easy. The shop that did the valve cover gaskets should of at least sealed them up with some rtv. Thats What i did. You do the Half Moons and the round black seals also. you have to pull the valve covers off again though. So if you can do that they are very easy to seal up.

Thanks I appreciate it. I was gonna try to sneak them out without pulling the VC out but I guess it makes more sense to replace the other seals while im in there.

I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start a new thread. Can anyone tell me what purpose the round cam plugs serve? Why are they there? Also, why the half moons in the front and back of the head? There must be a reason for these things. My covers weren't leaking a drop. It was the cam plugs and the half moons where the oil was oozing onto the exhaust.
