Ok had vc gaskets done. Had a spare set powder coated and put on. Shortly after driving home from garage, oil light flickers. Throughout the day it would come on at idle. I than noticed later on its a little noisy at start up. I googled an bunch of stuff . I had oil sensor replaced and put in 5w30 synthetic in. Before I did that I unscrewed cap and looked inside. I saw some gritty oil which I know is not good. I don't think they sandblasted the covers when they powdered them but dipped them instead. Only thing I can think is there was some dried oil in the baffles on valve cover. I cleaned them as good as could but thinking it may have got into motor. Oil was not gritty when I draned it though. So far the light hasn't come on and it's not as noisy. I do however see a pan leak now too. Anyone have any input. My guy tried to check pressure but had wrong sized fitting.

The oil pump pick up tube screen must be restricted. You probably shouldn't drive it.
You will need to remove the oil pan and clean the screen. Since your pan is leaking, it needs to be removed anyway.

Well worst possible scenario happened. The motor is shot. Spun a bearing. My mechanic said the grit I was seeing was bearing material and just a coincidence it happened after vc job. So it was cheaper to get a used motor. I purchased a JDM with under 75000 miles. Should be done this week.
