Just gave my '06 V6 its first oil change. It had the 14mm plug and no separate washer - unless it stayed stuck to the pan.

At the first oil change on my '06, the washer was stuck to the pan. It is very thin and has some sort of composite material on it that is blackish in color, so it was very difficult to see that it was stuck to the pan. The skid plate sort of gets in the way too.
It took me quite a while to finally get it to bust loose after prying at it with a screwdriver and knife blade. It's probably a good idea to make sure that it's not stuck there and replace it with a new one - eventually.
I installed a Fumoto valve, so I should not have this problem for the life of the vehicle.

Washer types vary
My '03 V6 had the same original washer as Baba Booey mentions. After that I used a normal sealing washer that I got from the dealer at the same time as I bought oil filters.
I think any reasonable sealing washer would do (greasefingers was right about cork!), and you might not get much leakage even if you used no washer at all. This is an oil sump after all, without static pressure.
Since the V6 has the oil filter at the top front of the engine and oil extractors work well with it, that's what I'm using now. No need to take the oil drain plug out at all.
