oil pressure and valve question... please help???

i swapped out my 22re for a rebuilt one out of an 86. mine is an 87 SR5 and it has the oil pressure gauge. i swapped everything and it told me i didnt have any pressure at all. then i swapped out the oil pressure senser. it now says i have pressure but very very little. whats going on here??? i know i have pressure because i took out the senser and started it and oil shot out. i have to drive 60 miles tomarrow and want to make sure that im not going to mess anything up.

my other question is should there be alot of valve noise? when i hit about 1500rpm i can hear it alot. i could hear it in my other motor that had 250,000 miles on it. this motor has 1200. should i just adjust them???

At the very least, I would open the valve cover and see if you getting oil up there. While your there, adjust the valves. Valve noises is not normal, No-matter how many miles.

im going to adjust them saturday morning and see what happens
