Old 4runners aka "the legacy"

I couldn't find any picture threads for older 4runners and I want to show everyone the 4runner I bought for $400 bucks. I'm proud of the 400runner.

I know that there are alot of 1st and 2nd Gen 4runners out there that have seen better days. There's alot of older 4runners out there that could eat the new ones alive too! Down with plastic bumpers! Up with rusty steel bumpers! I'm talking about function over form here!

If your 4runner could drive over most newer 4runners without looking back then post your picture here!

actually the 2nd gen isnt much, if at all, less plasticy or whatever than the 3rd gen.

the 3rd gen is just an upgraded 2nd gen overall.

3rd gens also seem to withstand the rust quotient much better too but I still love the oldies too.
Yotatech has a nice collection of the 2nd gen beaters along with some pristine examples too.

My bumper is steel.it's just painted and has the plastic "fatlip" piece in front of it.

i dont have rust yet, but i do have several key marks, nature's custom pinstripping, concrete on the driver side, a dented and dragged rear bumper, and have hit 3 vehicles with my STEEL bumper...

Alright, I'm going on a mission on my lunch break. Someone told me there's an old beat up 1st Gen for sale for $1000 at a used car dealer and I'm going to try and get a shot of it for this thread.

I promise to bathe it in mud once a week and I'll even put air in the tire.

In case you can't read the side window it says "Runs Great"

It makes me think of those classified ads that say "needs some TLC"

I know it isn't a 4 Runner, but an '83 SR5 that refused to get stuck. I would give anything to have this one back......

Look at the ground under it oil everywhere not to mention that it had a snowplow on the front you can see the bits under the front end, reason why you see the crazy rust

that thing was out plowing in the winter. run run fast...the other direction.

bought it for $500. off my boss, did some work (mainly body)

i have all the bills and records from the original owner too. my boss bought it in BC and drove here. so if anyones from BC maybe they've seen it.
