Old and New

After a short hiatus from the forum, I am back.

My old runner probably saved my life, I was rear ended by a Nissan Armada going 40+, and pushed into the car ahead of me. My runner was totaled on both ends. She was 2WD, and only 150k 98'. (look at the tow crossbeam, it buckled 10 inches. I had my tow hitch on for minor protection, it did "soften" the blow)
With the settlement check from the nasty lady's insurance company I bought myself a 4WD 98' with 215k. I have done the minor maintenance (seafoam, MAF and TB cleanings) and am going to start small with a bumper, then a small lift/shocks at the same time. I'm hoping this one lasts a little longer than the 4 months the last one did.

Glad you're ok and congrats on the new one. Good to see you didn't stray when you lost your first one.

yea these trucks are built tough back in the day, instead of making the the frame weak in some points to absorb the impact better like the new trucks, they just went ahead and made everything strong.

good thing youre alright. it sucks when your stuff gets ruined when its not your fault. So do you still have the old wrecked one? You can maybe part it out and get some extra $$.

if the insurance give him money he cant touch the truck he doesnt own it anymore

I was able to swap the tires out, and put crappy ones on, But that was about it. I literally JUST replaced the headlights, brakes, lines, and was 5 miles in on a new tank of gas. But wasn't able to get any of that stuff off.

Glad youre ok. You got a Limited and 4x4 out of it. So you made out better

Was your old truck too far gone to buy the salvage back from the INSR co

couldnt help but notice that the armada that hit you is in the photo.

Any pics of the damage to that? It's cool to see the difference in damage between them, see how they held up.
