Hi everyone, I am going to take my 4Runner out on its first serious 4x4 adventure to Old Chinaman's gulch (Buena Vista, CO.). Anyone who's done this before have any tips on this trail?

Old Chinamans Gulch

Never been there but let me know how it is. And post some pics when you get back. I'd love to see what that area is like.

Personally, I'm heading up to Mosquito Pass this weekend. If time permits, I may head over to Mt. Bross as well. Nothing extreme this weekend, just something to stretch her legs a little.

Have you done it yet? I did it about 1 1/2 yrs ago and would've liked to have "man diapers" with me. If you get out and do technical trails often you should be ok (with 3" lift and 32's) with some good spoting. Otherwise stay away... If you do decide to check it out take a look at Carnage Canyon that runs off the main parking area. I believe it rates as a 9!!!

Carnage is near to Boulder, off of Left Hand Canyon. I believe he is heading out to Beuna Vista.

You been to Carnage lately? Last time I ran it I ripped my gears apart in my front axle trying to climb the guardian at the very beginning. With the erosion its gotten Gnarly. That was another life, another vehicle...

Next to Old Chinaman is one of the most difficult trails in the state. I believe it is called Carnage Canyon. The day I checked it out as a spectator, the Outdoor Channel was filming some serious rigs attempting it. I saw a buggy go end over end a couple times. The trail is only 3yrs old or so.

Correction, there are actually TWO Carnage Canyon's in Colorado. One near to Boulder in Left Hand Canyon, and one near to Buena Vista:
