Look what I just got from the UPS Guy. I can't wait til the weekend. I'm so stoked. This going to be a long two or three days. My neighbors are going to give me a hand. I hope we can get this done this weekend so we can give it a run on Wed. and Thurs. I will keep everyone up to date on the progress.

Just looking at the threads from others who have done this lift and would like to know if there is anything more I should know before I start this install. Anything would be good. I want to be well informed before I start this.

Just couldn't tell from the picture. That's good that they do though! The install is pretty simple ... check over at yotatech.com for a write-up.

Since you have a complete set, installation should be EASY. When you remove the stock component, just make sure that you're reinstalling it w/ the right side of the shock (just look at the top plate and make sure it matches the stock bolt pattern) - it'll all make sense when you remove one side.

Good luck!

Thanks for that Good Times, I was wondering about that since they were not exactlly the same as one another. Since you have done this can you show/tell me where I should place the jack stands f/r.

jackstands go anywhere along the frame. usually a good spot is right after the front tire and right before the rear tire.

also as good safety practice, it's recommended that you put your tires under the truck. reason is that if the truck fails and falls, it'll fall on the tire and not straight on the ground. that way it can cushion the fall. also a way to get some floor jacks under there to get it back up too!

good luck!

purchases can be made any any OME/ARB vendor. try google for the stores and just hit them up w/ the exact part numbers you need.

people have been successful by visiting slee offroad and trdparts4u.com

good luck again!

Thanks for the info goodtimes. I read through that link at yotatech and it's been informative.

My quesiton now is why do people prefer the front sit up .5-1" higher than the rear?

I have a 4x4 V8 Limited and would prefer the milder of the spring setups.

What lift would I expect my setup to sit at F/R with the milder springs all around?

If you plan to do any serious offroading (as getting some serious equipment - bumpers winches etc etc ) where it'll weigh down the 4runner, then get some HD stuff. But for most applications, the Mediums will be fine.

If I were you I'd get the heavy coils in the front to go with you're V8 and the medium coils in the back. I have the heavy duty coils in front and back and it is a little stiff. However the V8 weighs 200 to 300 pounds more than the V6 so the heavy coils should be perfect up front.

Good point, I totally overlooked that part :)

Thanks for catching that one!

I do not plan on doing anything extreme. Just want to increase the ground clearance and off road ability. Since this may become my wifes daily driver, I do not want to increase the roll tendancy significantly.

I would think people will want to avoid the HD Front / Medium Rear because in this configuration, you are just asking for even more sag(relative) when the vehicle is loaded.
