Old Man Emu Suspension Install

Hey Guys!
wow its been like 10 years in seems since ive last did a post, but im back after a long break of no mods

so i just recieved my OME suspension lift in the mail yesterday and im looking forward to doing the install within the next week, i ordered the med and heavier duty setu because i tow alot and i also have the SCHROCKWORKS Bumper coming soon (6-8weeks?!) so im wondering if anybdy has any advice on the install? do i need anything special tool wise, any difficulties i may come across? removing x-reas? i remember doing the spacer lift a few years ago and it was pretty straigh forward but now im replacing everything!!

It really should not be any harder than the spacer install with exception to removing the XREAS.

An extra set of hands always helps. Also, may want to blast the nuts/bolts with some PB blaster or something to loosen up things.

well the spacers are kinda the poser lift, ive enjoyed them because i wanted to keep my xreas system but over the course of 100k my springs and taken alot of fatique so i want to redo my who suspension and do it right, and i just bought the schrockworks bumper so that added weight wont sit well on the spacers oh and i enjoy offroading alot so i want something more capable

You can just pull the shocks and cap off the Xreas. No need to remove it all just in case you wanted to go back to stock for resale purposes.

Lift so the oil comes out of the shocks. Then remove the shocks and cap it off . They have valves in them.

Doing what your doing is a heck of a lot easier than spacers. or "The poser lift " as you call it ....lol.

I installed sway away coilovers about a year ago. I had xreas as well. Here is a write up I did on that project. It was pretty easy. Use your bottle jack that's in the car to pry/push/make room to slide the springs in. It will make your life much easier.

I just got an Old Man EMU Kit for a 2019 4runner Off Road Premium that does not have KDSS.

The kit came with one front coil spacer for the driver side coil. I've read this is for KDSS only and I've read it helps levelling things out on the front?

Trim Packer:
(1) 95PF5 - OME Trim Packer

Is this required on the drivers side front coilover? Or should I leave it off? It preloads the coil a bit and makes the assembly look a little smaller than the passenger side.

I love my OME setup but just a heads up I did the medium springs and after putting on my SSO slimline with winch it sagged bad to I ended up getting the heavy springs and it fixed all issues.

Some guys need the packer, others don't. The only way to tell is to do the install and then compare the drivers side and passenger side front lift height. Sometimes the weight of the fuel tank causes the drivers side to sit a bit lower, which requires the trim packer to get it up closer to what the passenger side is.

I needed the packer on my 4th gen lift.
