OME 3" lift installed

Well I got my OME 3" coil lift from Toytec installed last night and figured I'd drop in and let you guys know what I think so far. I also installed the 1" diff. drop from Toytec.

Things I noticed so far:
-Ride is much improved over stock. It is stiffer (which I prefer) but not so stiff that its annoying to drive. Also seems to have less body roll.
-I do need an alignment BUT have experienced NO front end vibrations as some have reported with this particular lift.
-IMO the CV shafts do not appear to be at a detrimental angle, at least for 90% street driving. (I'll try and get a pic of this come this weekend.)

That is about all I can think of to report on that seems to be asked regularly about this lift.

Here is the one picture I have so far. Still running the 265/70s and will be for a year or so.

LOL. I love the way the lift looks and I wish so badly that I was riding on some 285s. I'm going to PM you my Fiance's phone number and you can give her a call and see if you get any further than I did :bigok:

Since I have to wait on getting the tires for probably another year, I will most likely end up getting some Lexus LX450 wheels and going with a 305/70. Thanks for the positive compliments!

edit: I just realized how bad this picture sucks. It gives me motivation to go out and take new pictures this weekend to better show off my investment.

Looks really good!!!!!!!!!!! What is the 1" diff drop? And what is the issue (I mean, could be the issue) with the CV shaft? Oh.... And I kind of hate to ask, but how much did the lift cost?

stiff meaning the body dont roll and dip as much. Helps with the nose dive you get when your on the brakes also. The feeling is more like having a set of good stiff shocks V.S. a dead plushy shocks.

The truck responds alot better. When you turn it turns. There is no delay and none of that floating feeling you get.

Stiff meaning it is a much improved, firmer ride than before. Not as "spongy" as before.

It's like sleeping on a 25yr old mattress, to sleeping on a brand new one.

Yes, a suspension can be too stiff.

Think of it like riding in an 1800s stage coach...now that's a stiff ride!

Anyways, everyone beat me to the stiff explanation so we got that covered. To put it into perspective... the brand new OME springs were only about .5" longer than the worn out stockers, but were still stiff enough to lift the truck ~3".

My last car was a 99 Honda civic that was lowered 2" and I loved the way that thing rode so I'm right at home again!

Nice Rig....these upgrades never stop. Now....I found a garage got a good alignment and after I went back to the garage where I bought four winter tires to complaint about the vibration and they did the four tires balancing no charge, that

i'm gonna try to talk my dad into letting me get that same lift when my rear starts to sag since he is against me getting a lift right now.


also just wondering why would the OME coils cause for vibration?

(First off, you are 2wd so none of this really matters to you, you can lift and not have to worry about CV shafts but I'll explain anyway.) A lot of people have experienced a front vibration with this lift because it is a full 3" lift. It puts more stress on the front CV shafts than a 2.5" lift would. It is my opinion, after doing this lift most people are experiencing problems either because they have not gotten an alignment, or there was a problem before and now they have something to blame it on.

As I said before, even at highway speeds, I have NO front end vibration what so ever and still have to get an alignment.

Yeah it is. Basically, the diff drop puts spacers in the front two differential mounts. You aren't actually moving the whole diff down just kind of tilting the front down. The 1" diff drop actually only lowers the inner CV boots by about .5". There is a big thread on yotatech on whether or not they actually help, and I plan on gathering some photos from other members to draw my own conclusions and will post my results on here. In the end, I figured even if it helps the tiniest bit, then it is worth the $30. Some people installing this lift still experienced vibrations with the diff. drop but again I would have to attribute this mostly to alignment issues.
