Once my XREAS sh!ts the bed, im gonna swap it out for an OME kit. Im not gonna put a front bumper on anytime soon and if i do, i will put on some OW 2.5's. I was thinking about the 884's with the top plate spacer or even bigger for the full 3". The V8 weighs more so should i get the 885's with a spacer? Ive seem some pice of both set-ups w/o a bumper and i like them both, i guess im looking for input on the ride quality. Thanks!

I have 885's with the spacer and a v6 and it's great.

With the extra weight of the V8 you could probably go with the 886 and have the same ride as a V6 with the 885.

I have the V8 limited and had the 886s up front without a bumper for several months before i put shrockworks on and it is very rough. I wouldn't do the 886s without any weight up front

Yup, gonna go with the 885's with the top plate spacer for the full 3" with the V8. As for the rear... either Toytec superflex coils or 895's.

A couple factors: I dont have a boat anymore and my boss just bough a new Ram 3500 LB so i dont tow much anymore; im selling my 2 dirt bikes and hitch carrier for an enduro so i dont haul anything anymore!! The only thing in the back of my rig in the summer is: a 6'6" spinner rod, tackle box, 30x3 recovery strap, hitches(2" ball and J hook), 1gal H2O, mini tool box, old boots and a folding chair. During the winter, switch the fishing gear w/ atleast 2 boards (1 w/binders), extra set of "binders", 2 sets of boots and a duffle full of extra "everything...and i mean everything"! So anywhere from maybe 50-150lbs.

For the rear, i want/need(fiance) as close to stock ride as possible. 896's are out of the question so im trying to decide between: Toytec superflex coils w/60020 Sport shocks or 895's w/60004 Sport shocks. The 895's use the same shocks as the HD896's, so will that make the ride in the rear stiff? Will the Toytec coils be "softer" and more like stock?

what shocks are you using on the front end?

My '05 Limited has OME 884 up front and OME 895 Coils in the rear matched with OME 90000 Front Struts and OME 60004 Rear Shocks. I really like the ride and lift which is about 3" w/o any aftermarket bumpers.

Forget about stock ride, it wont be close. You can see my setup in my sig, the superflex coils i got are supposedly softer than the ome's but i have nothing to compare it to. It just goes from being soft and mushy, to stiff. But, when you go over the rough stuff it comes back quickly and stops bouncing.

Just how thick is the Toytec Top Mount Spacer? I have the 1/2" thick spacer ontop of the fj springs now. can i put that back on to get a full 3 up front with the 885's?

Front shocks are the Nitrocharger 90000's

From what ive read, the 884's and 885's are around 2.25-2.5" lift but with the top plate spacer, they are a full 3". The top plate spacer gives you about 3/4" lift with a V6 and 1/2" lift with V8.

Two questions: Do you havea V8? Do you have a spacer on the 884's?
