OME 891's and bilstein 5125s (that came w SS 1.2 lift)

I am quite fed up w my LC coils in the rear (I tow too often and now have custom rear bumper). I am planning on the OME 891s.

question is, are the bilsteins gonna be ok? too long? Thanks in advance my 4runner homies.

Driver side is like 24" center hub to bottom of flare, passenger is about 24.5". May vary depending on your flares. Keep in mind I also have a lot of weight in the back bc of the rear bumper and cargo boxes. It was always slightly raked before all that. I'd say almost an inch over the measurements above.

Very clean thank you for posting your photo. Do you think the ext length is needed for a rear bumper? or do you think it would sag with regular length shocks? Sorry for another question but what do the flares have to do with it? Thanks for getting back to me

Those 861's like to sit low in the rear. If you like the raked look of your LC coils you want to go with the other coils that where mentioned.

It's not so much the sag being caused from shocks as it is the coils. With lesser duty coils my rear end would sag really bad. But because of the medium duty coils it compensates for the weight. The ext length shocks just allow me to maximize the flex I get out of rear suspension. With say some OME comfort shocks or something else the ride might feel better but I wouldn't see as much flex. The shocks would either max out possibly causing damage in the future or I'd have to extend my bumpstops so the axle hits them first. It's better to rely on your bumpstops being the first to stop your rear flex, not your shocks.

Oh and I just mentioned the flares because if say someone had the exact same setup as me and they had sr5 flares or no flares at all the measurements might be off just a tad bc you're changing an end point.

Which 5125's did you use? 4wheel parts has a bunch of different ones. I also want to use the OME 891. How is the lift/flexing?

I'm not quite sure what part number they were. Toytec use to sell them as extended travel versions with eye to stud adapters. Doesn't appear they sell them anymore, but you can shoot them an email or call to find out I'm sure.

The 891's were ok. They handle weight well until they inevitably start to sag. They're also short in length, so they like to fall out or move around while articulating the suspension.

I switched to the 861s. I'm ok with a little rake and sits level when towing.
