OME 891's annoyingly squeaky

I have been running the OME 891's for about three months and really like the ride and overall love the lift.

After installing I discovered I had a small squeak but lived with it. The squeak got worse over time but I found it could be tamed with a little silicon spray on the rear spring seats.

I pulled the springs in an attempt to find the source and correct but I was only able to find a small area the 891's had rubbed the paint off the spring seats. I have now come to the point I'm ready to put the stock suspension back on (sorta).

I'm hoping someone has dealt with this or has a suggestion. I really don't want to pull the springs again (3rd time) without a good resolution. I should add I purchased the springs used, only days old, and wonder if I'm missing some part to prevent this.

Are you running the rubber bumpstop cones that seat in the top of the spring? If the squeak is comming from the top that would stop the metal on coil contact.

My rear end used to squeak. Disconnect the upper and lower links, sway bar, trac bar, and upper shock bolts.

Grease everything thoroughly.

Re-assemble

no more squeak.

Yes, the upper cones are still there. I reassembled everything like it was stock except for the addition of the 891's

Ripcord, so your thinking its not actually springs rubbing something and squeaking but that something else may have gotten torqued during the installation of the 891's and just needs to be lubed. I considered replacing all the sway bar bushing to see if that helps but I may take your recommendation first and see if that helps. I'm curious what grease you used when you performed this. I have a white lithium grease that might be good for this????:bash:

I'm sure many of you have seen my post on here about the squeak that developed after I installed the OME lift. I have always felt there was something I missed or simply failed to do. Although the lift did ride better it always felt just a little off. I think I finally determined what the squeaking in the front was and as I thought it was from my newbness or lack of thoroughness. I have read through every forum I could find about installing a lift and finally hit coonass (trdparts4u) up and asked if he could send me the exploded view of the front spring shock assembly. Yep, I found it, I forgot to add the bushing on top of the top plate. Today I spent several hours pulling the springs again and fixing the issue. I failed to install these the first time because it appeared they simply would not fit. Today I did't take no for an answer and found a way. Also, I took this opportunity to lube everything before re-assembling. At this time I am squeak free, we will see how the rear suspension holds up.
