OME bushing battle royal!!

Has this happened to anyone else?

So I am changing my suspension (again) and I get to the part of the install where I put on the OME shocks out back... you know, the easy part! The front is done, the back is the easy end, right? I had already put the OME heavy springs in so all I needed was the shocks and then it was to be Miller Time.

I mistakenly take the whole rear apart before opening the OME box so I had no idea the shock bushing doesn't come installed... No big deal, right? NOT REALLY!! That little bugger is hard to get in there!! I spent way too long and got was too frustrated tying to get this easy step finalized. I lubed it up, I pryed on it, I stood on it, I searched my misc bolts bin for a bolt long enough to try and mount it/ pull it on.... nothing!!

I don't own a vise and I don't have any C clamps large enough for the task. I finally had to put the stock shocks back on and drive to Lowe's (closest store) and buy a big C clamp.

Anyway, I got it all buttoned up and the new set up is great. I thought I would start a thread so if this happens to anyone else they can get some tips on that bushing.

The C clamp method worked really well, and I know a vise will do the job, does anyone have any other ideas?

Whack it!

I used a rubber mallet and sprayed the shock with Fluid Film. Then make sure the eyelet is level and supported, not the shock and whack it. Took more than one try and some choice words, but finally got mine.
