OME Comfort Shocks

Hey all,
I'm going to be purchasing an OME lift within the next few months for my 2000 Limited. I am still rather confused on the difference between the normally-valved and comfort-valved shocks. Through my browsing and research, I have come to understand that the comfort one's will provide a softer ride (duh!), but I have also heard that off-road ability will be sacrificed. Pretty much does anyone know what it is about the comfort shocks that makes them this way, and how much do you actually sacrifice off-road capability?
I my driving condition frequency will be in this order Highway/city, snowy roads, lots of dirt roads (with washboadring- a big reason I want comfort shocks), and trail driving.
I would definitely enjoy the smoother ride comforts would give me, but I don't want to loose stability or too much off-road capability. I need your thought, experiences and opinions!
Thanks!

i have the comfort shocks in the back and the ride is awsome. i went with the hd spings. so not the 'exteme' ones the next ones down. i wouldnt say that offroad capabilities are sacrificed at all. they are slightly stiffer than stock and they work well to dampen the stiff spings. i live in southen california and all i usually see i washboarded roads and they work well.

and as for the front i have no clue on ome front set ups because i went with sway away coilovers

ome comforts are great for the price

i have all ome springs and shocks (comfort) and there very good. wish i would have done coil-overs up front maybe later as for the springs and shocks i put them through hell and their still working.
