OME Firm or Comfort Shocks?

I'm still debating on which OME shocks would be best for the OME 882/891 spring combo. My 2001 rig has stock bumpers with rear tow hitch. Should I order the comfort or firm shocks for my application? I tow a two place ATV trailer on occasion and a dirt bike hitch hauler with my DR650. Do the comfort shocks ride much better than the firm shocks with the stiff 891 springs? Any help is much appreciated!

i currenty have that combo i got the firm ones but i got skyjacker shocks out back ride is firm but not to harsh

I do not have this setup but firm is way nice than body roll.

I run OME 851's on the rear and the heavy duty 3" springs on the front. I am running the comfort valved shocks. These ride wonderfully to me, even with 10 ply tires.

shawn. kregg said in one of the stickys about lift questions, that an OME 851 will give the rear about 6 inches of lift. isnt this what you have on your truck?

I just installed that combo. The sport shocks in the rear are firm, it will ride like a truck. Still soaks up bumps pretty well, but I can see some people wanting the comfort shocks in the rear. I am 26, so I can withstand a stiff ride. Other car is in old Porsche, so stiff setups are not new to me. If your looking for more of a "limited" ride quality go for the comfort shocks. The sport OME shocks were as stiff or slightly stiffer then my SR5 shocks.

i have 882/891 on my 4runner with the comfort shocks and i think it still rides kinda rough but not too bad so i can only imagine how the firm ones would feel. Oh ya and i have stock bumpers, brush guard on front and hitch on the rear.

I have the 881/890 combo with the sport shocks and I think it rides rough in the rear.

With any of these rear coils I dont think it matters what shocks you get as the springs are very stiff and I believe thats what gives it a rougher ride. Even if I went with the comfort ones I doubt I would be able to tell a difference.

But keep in mind that everyones opinion of a "rough" ride will be different.
