OME rear spring ?

After buying my 88 pickup last year, I performed the "zuk" mod to help correct the sagging rear springs. It has done it's job, but it's time to fix this the correct way. I want to go with new shocks/springs and would like the OME kit. However, I'm really just looking to regain factory height, not looking for any lift. I already have a 1" body lift (required for the sliders) and have no intentions of going bigger than 31x10.50's. I can clear the tires fine, so would rather keep the center of gravity as low as possible. For the front, I can just keep the stock torsions and adjust as needed. Would it be possible to setup the rear OME leaf springs so that I only get close to factory height?

This is my first time working with leaf springs, so I wasn't sure what my options are. I've read you can go with longer shackles for more lift, but wasn't sure if a shorter shackle was an option for less lift. Any suggestions?

Here's a pic of the current setup for reference.. I'd really like to stay around this height if possible.

You would need to relocate your rear shackle mounts. I have rear OME leafs and I got a bunch of lift and my shackle angle is horrible. I'm going to move my shackle mounts to fix my shackle angle and lower the lift.

Really? My OME springs were stock length, shackle angle was perfect.

ARK, you'll have trouble getting back to stock height with OME springs, they're good for about 1.5" once they settle in, higher at first. If you feel compelled to pull the zukmod you could add leafs to the stock pack to get you back to stock height.

Mine are stock length too. I got the OME shackles too I don't know if they messed with it at all but my angle is literally vertical.

Page 8 of my build post #119 you can see my shackle angle and the lift I got. I think it's at least 3" higher than stock.

Wow, that's crazy. What length are those shackles? I've got better angle than that and I'm running 6" shackles.

I almost wonder if you got a wrong part number for those springs. You should measure the eye to eye next time you're under there.

That's the problem with OME, lift numbers seem all over the place. I'm thinking with the pickup and light rear end, it's likely to be closer to 3".

I haven't considered an AAL, I was thinking it would only cover up the issue of worn out springs. That may be a route to consider though.

I had looked for a set of OE spec springs, so far all I found is SDTruckSprings.com. They're quite a bit more expensive than OME, and I'd rather have a proven setup.
