OME, safe to assume they're alone?

I am in the process of lifting my 4runner, and after looking at sites such as Toyota Tech and other sites, it seems to me that the only company specializing in 4runner lifts is OME, I definitely don't want to go the spacer route, but are there any other companies that do 4runner specific lifts?? Thanks

Sonoran Steel is AMAZING! Steve's products are top notch...and if you want to do it right, I would HIGHLY recommend choosing one of his packages. But they are for those who want to achieve a functional lift. If you just want to make it "bigger", you can do it for much cheaper.

Awesome thanks guys, i'll check out those links. As far as setup, i kinda want to stay away from spacers, I'll be using this setup over the summer on the 4wd roads in Colorado.

Let us know which suspensions lift you will install. Measure with stocked tires (tire size) from fenders to ground. The only way to find out how many inches you lift your rig. Take pictures before and after you installed the lift.

Has anyone found any pricing on the Fabtech lift if you go with their basic shocks? Their website store is down, and the poster of the photo above hasn't returned my PM. Thought I would see if anybody else knows what that lift costs.

Sorry officer-de'-la-posts, but I think this is about lifts. Is it not? So my question, is PERFECT for this thread. If someone has the answer please come forth. No need to start an entire new thread, about a lift that was recommended on this vary thread.

--Will do, tonight i'll take some measurments. My only question is how much of a difference does having gas in the tank affect measurments? Should I measure with the tank full or does it not matter?
 
if you havnt already bought a lift kit, there are a few ways to go about doing so.

if you have the money go with www.sonoransteel.com his lift kits a complete with everything and then some.
www.rocky-road.com sells OME complete kit for 649
if you go to www.partznet.com and look for front coils from an 02 toyota tundra and shocks from an 02 tundra w/offroad pkg. and coils and shocks from a 96 landcruiser for the rear. then you can buy a spacer from www.toyteclifts.com or www.rocky-road.com. to complete that lift.
www.toyteclifts.com sells a coil lift for 359.99, but then on top of that you have to buy the shocks. the tokico that they offer are what sonoran steel used to offer. you can get shocks from www.shockwarehouse.com 02 tundra for front and 96 landcruiser for rear.

if you have any other questions let me know. ive been looking into a lift kit like the one sonoran offers for about 8 months now.
 
yep haven't made the purchase yet, i have been researching like crazy, and this post is helping so much. I really appreciate all this input. I am planning on making the purchase in early March so can get installed and all set before moving to Colorado in May!! One quick question tho...

this truck will be going over a lot of 4WD roads, almost every day. Can spacers take that sort of abuse??
 
the spacers can take the abuse but its your coils and shocks that probably wont be able to handle it. they will for a while, eventually your going to need to replace them. ive driven a truck with spacers and seen many with them, they ride nice and handle well but there isnt as much flex as with a coil lift. two of my brothers drive tacomas and both have a 2.5" toytec spacer lift and neither have any complaints. one gets more offroad use than the other and he seems to be able to get any where he wants to go.
 
jmrwd3, I am in the same situation you are, thanks for starting this post. What have you found out about wear to the cv joints? I would like to go with an OME 3" lift but heard over 2" or 2.5" (depending on who you talk to) your CV joints get beat. Even with the relocated differential. Thanks man.

I installed OME882 with long strut OMEn91s gives me 3 1/2" lift on the front. After driving for 1000km. the suspension settled to 3 1/4". Anyway when I installed the suspension lift it give me full droop result of the inner cv boot to leak grease. I did more research how to fix these problems. I already order diff. drop and see if that help. If not I'll go with Camburg Uni-Ball Upper Control Arm Set.

www.rocky-road.com advertises a 2-2.5" lift.

jmrwd3, have you looked into that lift for your 4runner? Im wondering if any mod would have to be done to save the CV joints with that size lift?

Have you made a decision on what lift youre going with?
