OME springs

If getting a 3 inch lift using just the ome springs without the shocks was my only option, would it be worth it?

Id be doing light off roading nothing too serious I just need more clearance. Unfortunately, it would take me a long time to get the money for the shocks but they could come a little farther down the line.

So does anyone have experience with using just the springs? How does it ride when off roading?

I did the same thing i didnt have money for shocks but i just got the springs and spacer lift and it road pretty decent, a little stiff but it softened up after the springs started to settle a little, you should be fine as long as your not trying to jump your runner or if you want extreme flex. But for mild offroading and mainly on roading youll be cool

I bit the bullet, so i wouldnt have to take our the front and re-do the coils since htey have to be compressed and then get it re-aligned.

I would at least do the fronts right so your done. you can always add the rear later when you have the funds.

So I could get the springs and just the front shocks and I would be fine for the moment?

sure. I would get OME front coils, and shocks installed at the same time. cause you have to compress the coils to get the shock in there.

then when your done with the front you have to get it aligned.

cause if you just do the front coils, htey still have to compress the coils to get the old shocks in there. depending upon what coil you go with, you will get some lift.

if you change out the shocks later when you can afford them, you have to spend more $ to get the coils compressed, new shocks installed and then again re-aligned. if you do that all the first time, you wont have to spend the same $ twice.

the rear you just add coils and keep you older shocks. just remember the stock shocks dont travel as long as the shocks OME suggested. but you can certainly do shocks later. and you dont need an alignment.

i paid around $700 for my 882/890 with sport shocks. paid some one $200 to install it cause I dont have a coil compresser and timing I needed it done faster than the time I had.

you can just do the front, but you will be racked by the way. front higher than the rear.

rear coils alone shouldn't be to bad. the shocks are what cost a bit more.

Hey all, someone locally is selling a set up similar to what is being discussed here and I'm just wondering if it's a good deal/setup.

3" front strut spacers
Rear OME coils, doesnt say which ones but I'd assume 890's
Front diff drop

Selling for $460. All new.

Keep in mind this is in Canada and everything tends to cost about 20% more than what you'd pay in the states thanks to shipping and duty. Plus the guy selling it will help install it.

My original plan was to wait and buy the Toytec ultimate lift kit, but that is 3 times the price meaning I probably wouldn't have the spare cash for it until the winter(motorcycles are my main hobby).

I won't be doing any major wheeling, mostly trails and some rough stuff off logging roads to get to dirt bike and mountain bike trails.

Any thoughts would be great!
