ome suspension install, think i have a problem??

i installed the ome suspension kit yeasterday and everything seemed to go as smoothly as possible but when i lowered it and drove it around for awhile i notice that the top post of the front struts ar potruding through the tower and im not sure what the problem is or what the cause it,

can anyone help?

In addition to the top part of the shock being messed up the 3 mounting bolts look too long.

when i installed the new struts i didnt take anything off the old one and put it on the new one, i think that was my mistake because i didnt know, so i think i dont have that bottom cushion retainer, and that top cushion retainer

but what is creating that gap, is there a extra cushion i need on the underside? when i was instaling it last night i notice that there is a cushion already attached to the underside of48603/48609 - is that correct? does it make a difference if my stock suspension was a xreas??

You definitely need the cushions/bushes on the top. In the link from CJ3 you are missing parts 48510J and 48510Q. They work when the shock is extending (rebound). They are very important and without them you will destroy the mounting plate. I strongly recommend you do not drive until you put them back in.

How many cushions in front shock/strut assy?

Hi there. I know this thread is old. May I know how many cushions are there in one front shock/strut assembly? According to 4runner service manual it only has 1 cushion on top of the support sub-assy but I was wondering why there is another "cushion retainer" at the bottom of the support sub assy but no cushions?. I have an 05 4runner V8 SR5 4WD. Appreciate your answers.

The bottom cushion retainer keeps the post from pushing through the support assembly/plate.

I was wondering why the 4th Gen as per the service manual doesnt have the cushion below the support sub assy unlike the 3rd gen? Any ideas? Please see image below. Thanks.
