OME suspension

I got a call from the shop manager overseeing the install of an OME kit on my gen1. He said after installing the torsion bars and shocks up front, its 2 full inches below the rear, and has 1/4" of suspension travel.

Truck was original prior to install. Any gurus have an idea whats going on?

I purchased the '010' rear leafs which iirc, is stiffer than the 009 leafs.

Any guidance on how to 1, level it, and 2, get the front to boing like its supposed to?

Why did you choose the stiffer spring?

Those springs are a "lift spring" I think 2.25 inches iirc, so it sitting higher in the rear checks out. Its hard to guess what going on with out seeing anything.

Sounds like it may need 500 lbs in the bed for a few days to settle them down. May just be new springs stiff. If not, you could pull a leaf or two from each side.

If they cranked up the front to try to match the rear, "un cranking" the torsion bars could get some "boing" back. Maybe look into Ball Joint spacers to bring the front up?

Thanks for the info. Honestly I realized I screwed up on the springs after return period closed. I'm not going monster truck, and wasn't planning on more than a sub-woofer in the back, so firmer springs were stupid.

Thinking back, the front of the truck always felt like there was no suspension. Every pebble was a hard bump. Guessing something is stuck/rusted.

Any specific areas to check out on the IFS to understand why its not moving?

Sounds like the torsion bars aren't adjusted properly.

You can remove a leaf or two from the leaf spring pack. I have the medium duty's. I removed the very bottom leaf, it rides pretty decent not hard at all IMO. Up front i have a 1" BJ spacer and adjusted torsion bars accordingly. Sits perfectly level

Resolution was interesting. The shop called ARB to discuss, and the tech talked them through both unsticking the torsion bar front, and leveling the rear. I want to say they recommended pulling leaf 3. Sits pretty good now. Need to drive it more to get the rear to sit a bit.
