OME vs Toytec

The OME lift is around $700 while the Toytec is $330.

What is the major difference between the two? Can both be used for offroading?

I'm really leaning towards the toytec but I'd like some feedback before I pull the trigger on this.

Toytec uses OME. What exactly are you talking about ? Like for 330 what does it include ? Just spacers im guessing. For 700 you can get new coils and shocks(which are OME) from toytec. If your offroading no need to go cheap.

How do I find out if my shocks are good or not?

My truck has 150,000 miles on it, I bought it when it had about 138,000. To me it rides like its still brand new, but I am not sure if the previous owner changed the shocks or not.

I'm confused about the toytec lifts.

Do I want the lift with spacers up front and coils in the back?

Or the lift when coils in front and back?

Go with a spacer lift then. Daystar is a popular one. Burtman carries it.

i used the toytec lift and it works good for me. i dont wheel alot but once in awhile. i went with 3" spacers in front with coils in rear. no problems yet and went wheelin with my buddy in a 08 tahoe in sandp it with 2 foot snow drifts. he framed it out and the 4runner had to recover it AGAIN and AGAIN. sorry no camera on hand to capture awsome shots.

I went ome from toy tec all the way. coils. great set up. 3" from coils alone, 4.5/5" total

i am thinking of going with this lift... i wonder if you have any pictures of the lift on your runner??
i am deciding between this ride or the one with all coils.
i do trail ride and mud quite a bit in the summer.

allison hope this helps. i havent really mudded it but goes great through snow and sand. i dont have a lot of hard core trails so most of my 4wd time is spent on the beach all summer.

blk, what size tires are those?

im already set on the toytech 3" suspension. i was all about the spacer for the longest time, but for under 500, they set you up with the new springs, and ill get the shocks later

oh yea - that looks great. thats about what i am lookin for as far as lift height. i may go with the coils (and a 1" body lift in the rear)... i trail in the flint hills.

blk, nice looking rig. i have the same problem in S.E. VA, except no snow. anyway, will that lift work on a '02 and how much did that set you back?

size on tires are 285 75 16
lift was $330 including diff drop that i havent installed yet.
