On Line OEM parts sources?

I am looking for a good reliable and reasonably priced source for OEM parts. I have been getting some of them from Amazon, but they don't always have everything I am looking for.

Account I am in the Phoenix AZ area Camelback and any other AZ sources are not usable because I would have to pay both sales tax and shipping - I'll pay one or the other, but not both!

I've looked on eBay, but a lot of the sellers there seem to gouge on shipping.

I use Olathe toyota with no complaints. Fast processing and thorough making sure everything is correct. Although if its something small like plug washers the min shipping is about $10. I get that stuff from the local dealer.
 
Camelback gets my vote. I have a local dealership in my area and I have a business account there that gets me a discount. It is still cheaper to order the stuff from camelback.
 
Is Camelback cheaper than Toyota of Dallas? Toyota of Dallas is cheap, but they do have a $12 minimum shipping charge.

My local Toyota dealer (Atkinson Toyota) charges almost twice as much as Toyota of Dallas. See this thread for details. Make sure your local dealer isn't ripping you off.

Jeez guys, seriously, search a little bit... There are tons of references to the 3 cheapest sources out there: Toyota of Dallas, Toyota of Newnan, and Camelback (there are probably many other dealers offering similar online prices as Dallas and Newnan, but those are the only 2 I know of). If you don't like any of those 3, then I say to you...

You are being unreasonable! You should be satisfied vis von of zees vendors!

Seriously though, just put together a shopping list of stuff you need from a dealer and put it all together to average out the shipping from one of the 2 dealers. You are still getting a better deal than by going anywhere else.
 
I live in Tucson and have ordered from Camelback Toyota several times. They are pretty helpful when you call too. If you order over a certain amount shipping is free and usually pretty fast, especially if you live in the area and don't want to just pick stuff up. Ordering from them was the same price as Dallas but shipping was faster since they are pretty much local.

I just used Olathe here and the only complaint I have is of an older guy who doesn't know shit about parts. I was trying to explain the 2003 - 2006 headlight swap (trying to figure out if there were any bulbs that were interchangeable) and he kept saying I couldn't do it and he didn't understand what I was talking about. Luckily I got my answer on this board where I should have just asked in the first place. Pisses me off when employees don't know anything about the product they work with but I'm guessing these aren't highly trained people and are just thrown into the position. Olathe is about $1-$3 higher on prices than some of the other stores but they have everything and they're a site sponsor so I just went with them. Shipping is about a week.
 
My local toyota dealer matches online prices. If I ask for a quote online, they give me pretty much same as camelback minus any shipping. They ask me to print the quote, I bring it with me and get the part for the same as online and save on shipping. They told me when you fill the online quote, to get the sale they must compete with online pricing.

Yeah when I order anything that isn't an exact match for my VIN they call me and ask about it. I get it next day usually because they are only 3 hours away, main reason I use them. Pretty sure my local dealer gets everything from there because they talk about having to order stuff from Kansas City so I guess it's Olathe.

speaking of dealers I live in Utah and contacted one of the Toyota dealers out asking if they sell parts at discount like some of these on-line retailers. The answer I got seemed like a bullshit response but actually got me questioning things. The parts manager told me that these on-line places tend to sell "grey" parts which are parts that have been discarded at the manufacturer but are bought in bulk to sell by third parties. He also said that a lot of it wasn't even OEM. I'm pretty sure that is 99.99999% Bull Shit considering we're getting these parts from actual dealerships and if they list something as OEM and it's not then that's a major size 15 boot up the ass law suit against them. I wanted to drop several "F" bombs at the guy calling him a lying sack of shit but there was that .1% that wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or not.
 
Thanks for the advice and thoughts! Camelback is the cheapest for what I am looking for (upper and lower rad hoses, thermostat and rad cap) so that order would not be over $150 for their free shipping. I can certainly see using them for more expensive things and just driving the 40 miles to their store using will call.

Amazon does not have OEM hoses so that is why I am looking elsewhere.

Olathe is somewhat higher, and Toyota Parts . com is in between.

Maybe I'll call the parts dept of the two Toyota dealers who are much closer to me here in East Mesa and see if they will match Camelback :)

I just placed an order with Olathe Toyota over the phone - the parts person was very friendly and helpful. Reason I called is that one part shown in the diagram did not have a number so I couldn't order it on line. She found the number quickly and verified it was the right part for my VIN.

Parts should ship tomorrow via FedEx ground.

I've used parts.com many times over the years and they have reasonable prices in my opinion.
